The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara will release the GSET application form 2024 in online mode at its official website. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be able to fill the GSET application form 2024. The commission conducts Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) for determining the eligibility of Gujarat state’s candidates for Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of Gujarat State. GSET is conducted in 23 subjects at 11 Centres spread across Gujarat state.

According to the eligibility criteria of GSET 2024, candidates must have completed their Masters degree specified by UGC. Those studying in final year Masters programme can also apply. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 55% of marks (General category) and 50% (for reserved category) in their Master Degree in Science, Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications. OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC can apply for GSET.

Candidates pursuing their final degree examination must complete their Master’s degree examination within two years from the date of declaration of result of GSET Examination with required percentage of marks, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.

Those belonging to the third gender or Transgender will also get the same relaxation as SC/ST/PWD(PH/VH) categories. The PhD degree holders shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in the GSET examination.

Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara will release the application form in online mode. Candidates have to register online and pay the application fee. The application process is completely online. The application fee is Rs.900 for General / SEBC (Non-creamy layer) Candidates and Rs.700 for SC / ST / PWD (PH/VH) / Transgender Candidates. Candidates have to visit the State Bank of India website for fee payment. Examination fee can be paid only through online mode by Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card using SB Collect facility of State Bank of India at the following link on State Bank of India website.

Paper 1

Paper I of GSET 2023 will be of 1 hour duration i.e 9:30 to 10:30 am. The question paper will have 50 compulsory questions for a maximum score of 100. The questions will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. There are no negative marks for incorrect answers and there will be no provision of re-evaluation of paper. The questions will be objective in nature.

Paper 2

Paper II of GSET 2023 exam pattern states that there will be a total of 100 compulsory questions for a total of 200 marks. Candidates will get 2 hours for solving paper 2 (11am to 1pm). Here too, the questions will be objective in nature with no negative marking. Also, there will be no provision of re-evaluation.

              For better preparation of GSET 2024 exam, one must start early. Preparation for exams should begin earlier so that one always get a chance to revise the syllabus. One should always be organized and prepare an agenda of the portion which needs to be covered each day. For that it is crucial to make an outline of how many days one has in order to finish studies so that one has enough time left to revise as well. Prepare an outline. Make brief outlines/ points that help in recollecting the entire concept. One could prepare this while he/ she are attending a lecture in the classroom or while reading the text book. Mark all the difficult points and read them once more to understand them better or take help from peers or family. It is very important to clear the concepts. After the entire part is clear, prepare an outline which can be used as a last minute referral. Eat healthy, take rest. It is equally important to take care of your health and body.

              The hall ticket of GSET 2024 will be uploaded on the official website 7 days prior to examination day. No hall ticket will be sent to the candidates by post. The candidates should download their hall ticket from the website and keep it safe for future references. GSET 2024 hall ticket will mention the venue of examination along with other details. No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre other than that allotted to him/her in the Hall Ticket. Also, candidates need to carry a valid photo id along with the hall ticket as no candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam without it.

              The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara releases the GSET 2024 result in online mode. The result is released online and the candidates can check and download the result using their roll number.
