TNTET Exam Pattern 2019 – Teachers Recruitment Board, Tamil Nadu has prescribed the exam pattern of Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test. The exam pattern has been released along with the notification of the examination. As per TNTET exam pattern 2019, the exam will be conducted in the offline mode. Using the exam pattern of TNTET 2019, candidates can become familiar with the number of questions, distribution of marks, sections, duration, marking scheme and other relevant details of TNTET 2019. The exam will be held for two categories – Class 1 to 5 and Class 6 to 8. According to TNTET exam pattern 2019, candidates applying as teacher for Class 1 to 5 have to appear in Paper 1 while for Class 6 to 8, candidates have to take Paper 2.

TNTET Exam Pattern 2019 - Paper-wise

According to TNTET exam pattern, the written test for both papers will be conducted for 150 marks. Total questions asked in the exam are 150 and questions asked in the test will be objective type questions. Paper 1 will consist of five sections from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics and Environmental Studies while Paper 2 comprises four sections - Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematic and Science/Social Science. Candidates will be allotted three hours to complete the test. The detailed exam pattern of TNTET 2019 examination for both Paper 1 and 2 has been provided in the tables below for the convenience of candidates.

TNTET Exam Pattern 2019 - Marking Scheme

With the help of the exam pattern of TNTET exam, it can be inferred that candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer provided in the examination. However, no marks will be deducted for incorrect answers as negative marking is not applicable for the test.

TNTET Exam Pattern 2019 – Difficulty Level of Exam

The questions asked in the exam for Paper 1 will be at par with the topics of syllabus prescribed for Classes 1 to 5 of Tamil Nadu. However, the difficulty level of questions asked in Paper 1 will be similar to that Higher Secondary. Similarly, for Classes 6 to 8, questions in the written test will be based on topics provided in the syllabus for Classes 6 to 7 but the difficulty level of the questions will match that of Higher Secondary level.


TNTET Syllabus 2019

Teachers Recruitment Board, Tamil Nadu provides the syllabus of TNTET 2019 written test along with the notification. With the help of the syllabus, candidates can know the topics and units that are required for the exam. After familiarising themselves with TNTET syllabus 2019, candidates proceed preparing for the examination. The syllabus of TN TET 2019 will consist of topics/units from both papers. For Paper 1, the topics and units will pertain to Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics and Environmental Science while questions for Paper 2 include topic from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics and Science/Social Science.

Hello Sheik,

candidates can apply for TNTET  paper 1 or paper2 or both as per the eligibility.

for TNTET paper1:

  • All the aspiring candidates must have completed and passed 10+2/HSC and also must have a Diploma in Education/Diploma in Elementary Education from a recognized institute

  • Or, candidates who are in final year and appearing for D.E.Ed. can also apply for TNTET 2019. However, during documents verification candidates will have to provide the D.E.Ed certificate or else they will not be eligible to receive the TET eligibility certificate

Hello team, Would like to understand the tet process.. Im seeing so many people who had completed there btech /be and try to know that whether they can eligible to apply for exam.. As per my understanding, they can apply only if they completed b. ed along with be/btech.. Maelum this correct??

Hello,

Yes, it's imperative to do teacher's training program whether it's BEd or DEd for a candidate to be in teaching profession whether it's through CTET or State Level TETs. It doesn't matter whether your degree in discipline of science, commerce, technical, management etc.

Along with being a graduate from a recognized University, BEd or DEd is important.

see the eligibility criteria differs to paper wise ,

for paper 1, candidate need to have bed in nursery tearchers training or diploma in elementary education,

for paper 2, candidate need to have a graduation degree in ba/bsc/b.lit degree with the subjects of tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography with 10+2+3 pattern from a recognized university.

The Tamil Nadu Teachers' Entrance Test will  be held in May 2020. You are eligible for both Paper-1 and paper-2 of this examination. however,, you need to complete a B.Ed, 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a Diploma in Special Education.
