RPF Recruitment 2018 – Ministry of Railways has released notification for recruitment of 9739 Constables and Sub-Inspectors in Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF). Out of the total vacancies, 8619 are for Constable while 1120 are for Sub-Inspector posts. The online application form for RPF recruitment 2018 has been made available on June 1, 2018. Candidates can apply till June 30, 2018. According to RPF recruitment 2018 eligibility criteria, candidates applying for the post of Constable must be in the age group of 18 to 25 years and have passed SSLC/matriculation. To be eligible for Sub-Inspector post, candidate’s age should be between 20 to 25 years and must be a graduate. Both male and female candidates are eligible to appear for RPF/RPSF recruitment. The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be conducted in September and October 2018. The RPF recruitment process will be conducted in three phases – Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Document Verification (DV). The examination authority, Indian Railway, has prescribed the eligibility criteria of RPF recruitment 2018 detailing the parameters like age, nationality and educational qualification. Candidates to be eligible for the recruitment process of RPF have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria prescribed by the exam conducting authority, RRBs.
RPF 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizen.
Age limit: The post-wise age limit for Constable and Sub-Inspector posts is given below:
Note: Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to unreserved category candidates
Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for the post of constable must have passed SSLC/matric or equivalent qualification. Those applying for Sub-Inspectors posts must be graduate. Candidates awaiting their final exam results of SSLC/matric or graduation are not eligible to apply. Post-wise educational qualification is given below:

The application form of RPF recruitment 2018 has been released on June 1. Candidates can fill RPF 2018 application form till June 30. Only online applications will be accepted for the recruitment process. Fee for the recruitment exam is Rs 500 for general and OBC male candidates and can be paid both online and offline. SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, female, minorities, economically backward class candidates have to pay Rs 250 at the time of application which will be refunded after deducting the bank charges on appearing in CBT. Candidates who wish to make changes in the application form after final submission can edit the details on payment of Rs 250. Except state, email id and mobile number candidates can edit other details in RPF/RPSF application form. Changes will be permitted only for twice. The steps to fill RPF 2018 application form are explained below:

How to fill RPF application form 2018?
Register by submitting details like name, date of birth, father’s name, Aadhaar number, category, roll number of Class 10 or graduation, year of passing, contact details etc.
Registration number and password will be generated
Fill other details in the application form like educational qualification, gender, religion, ESM, Minority, Age relaxation, eligibility category etc.
Pay the requisite application fees online or offline
Choose group and zones/RPSF, exam centres and language for CBT
Upload scanned photograph and signature

The admit card of RPF recruitment 2018 will be issued to candidates 10 days before the exam – CBT/PET/PMT/Document verification. Candidates have to download RPF 2018 admit card online. The admit card will include details like name, date, time and address of exam centres. Candidates have to bring one photograph as well as photo-identity proof along with RPF admit card.
The exam pattern of RPF recruitment 2018 provides details like marking scheme, number of papers, time duration, qualifying marks and number of question. According to RPF 2018 exam pattern, the standard of examination will be of Class 10 level. Questions in the CBT will be asked from General Awareness, Arithmetic and General Intelligence and Reasoning. There will be 120 questions that has to be answered within 90 minutes. Total marks of the test is 120.
Candidates can choose any of the language for appearing in CBT from Hindi, English, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Konkani, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi Assamese, and Manipuri. For correct answer candidates will score 1 mark while 1/3 marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. PET/PMT is qualifying in nature and no marks will be awarded to candidates. RPF Answer Key 2018
The answer key of RPF recruitment 2018 will be released after completion of exam by the RRBs. The answer key will be available online. Candidates have to login with their application number. Before the release of official RPF 2018 answer key, the coaching institutes also releases the same. Using the answer key of RPF recruitment 2018, candidates can check correct answers of questions asked in the exam. They can also calculate the probable score based on the number of correct anbled incorrect answers. Candidates can challenge the answer key if they are not satisfied with the answers within the dates prescribed by the conducting authority.
The result of RPF recruitment 2018 will be announced separately for different phases – CBT, PET and PMT and DV. First, the result of CBT will be declared in December. The result will be declared by the various RRBs. RPF 2018 result will be available online. To check the result, candidates either have to login with the required credentials or the roll numbers will be made available in PDF file.
A merit list will be prepared based on a candidate’s marks in CBT. On the basis of the merit list candidates will be called for PMT and PET. Though PMT and PET is qualifying in nature but it is mandatory to clear this stage. Based on the performance of candidates in CBT, PET and PMT, they will be called for DV. RPF recruitment final result will be declared based on a candidate’s performance in the selection rounds.
RPF Cutoff 2018
The cutoff of RPF recruitment is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to score to get selected for the next round of selection process I.e PET/PMT. The examination authority has decided qualifying cutoff for CBT as per categories.
The qualifying marks for the CBT is 35 % for general and OBC category while it is 30 % for SC and ST. Apart from this, the conducting authority also decides cutoff for the merit list based on factors like number of appeared candidates, difficulty level of exam and number of vacancies. Only the candidates who secures both the cutoffs will be selected for the further stages of selection. RPF recruitment cutoff will be available as per regions, posts and categories.
RPF Selection Procedure 2018
The selection procedure of RPF recruitment 2018 will be carried out in three phases. First, candidates have to appear for CBT. Second, candidates qualifying the CBT will appear in PET and PMT. Candidates 10 times the number of vacancies as per category will be called for PET and PMT. Third, based on candidate’s performance in CBT, PET and PMT, they will be called for document verification. Candidates selected for document verification have to undergo medical tests. Appointment of selected candidates is subjected to their satisfying the medical fitness test. Selected candidates will have to undergo training at RPF/RPSF centres. Passing the final examination at the end of training is mandatory for appointment to the force.
