National Testing Agency has released the official CSIR UGC NET 2024 notification for December session on December 9, 2024 in online mode. The CSIR UGC NET 2024 application form window for December session has been activated on the official website, csirnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates will be able to fill up the CSIR UGC NET application form 2024 till December 30, 2024. The last date to pay the application fee of CSIR UGC NET 2024 exam is December 31, 2024.
The CSIR UGC NET 2024 exam dates for December session are mentioned in the official notification. According to the notification, the CSIR UGC NET 2024 December session exam is scheduled to be conducted from February 16 to 28, 2025. Candidates qualifying the examination for Lecturers (NET) will be eligible to apply at various Colleges and Universities while those who qualify for JRF (NET) will be awarded a fellowship that is valid for a period of 2 years for joining the fellowship under CSIR.
About CSIR NET
The CSIR NET exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates as Lecturers and for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the Faculty of Science by the National Testing Agency. The exam of CSIR NET is conducted in online mode and contains questions from five subjects - Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Science, and Earth Sciences. The CSIR NET 2024 exam for June session will be conducted at a total of 225 exam centers across the country.

NTA releases the CSIR NET 2024 result online mode on official website. Along with the result, CSIR NET scorecard 2024 is also released by NTA. Candidates can check their results for CSIR NET 2024 by entering their application number and date of birth in the login window. The qualified candidates will be appointed as JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) and Lectureship (NET).
NTA released the CSIR NET eligibility criteria that must be fulfilled by the candidates in order to appear for the test. Aspiring candidates should go through the eligibility criteria of CSIR NET before applying for the test. Candidates must fulfil all the conditions of eligibility regarding age limits, educational qualifications, etc. prescribed for admission to the examination.

The cutoff list is prepared by considering the cumulative marks of all parts of the exam. As per last year, the minimum qualifying marks for General & OBC category was 33 % and for SC/ST and PwD categories was 25 % for both fellowship and lectureship.
The selection procedure of CSIR NET is based on the marks secured in the offline test and fulfilling the eligibility criteria of CSIR NET. Candidates will be selected for awarding Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) NET and will be appointed as Lecturership (NET) in subjects under the faculty of science and technology.
Offline Test - Candidates will be held in offline mode for 200 marks. The subjects for the exam will have questions from Life Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Chemical Sciences and Physical Sciences.
As per the CSIR NET, the pay scale for selected candidates will be awarded fellowship of Rs.37,000 per month for first two years. Along with this, the university/institution will be given an annual contingency grant of Rs. 20,000 per fellow for the third and the subsequent year on the basis of the progress of the fellow.

CSIR UGC NET conducts the exam every year for LS and JRF program.
Candidates can either apply for LS or JRF. They cannot apply for both.
CSIR UGC NET assembles the merit list to assign Lectureship and JRF to the meritorious candidates.
Candidates who qualify for the cut-off for the lectureship program can apply for the post of assistant professor in different universities and colleges. Still, they will not be eligible for the regular Junior research fellowship program.
Prospects who qualify for the NET-JRF exam will get a chance to kickstart their higher education and research in their desired subject or specialization.
If you have applied for JRF :-
1) clear the qualifying cut off then you will be eligible for LS also.
2) do not clear the cut off for JRF you will not be eligible for LS.
