The UP PCS J 2024 Prelims are the first round of exams. The UP PSC J Prelims can be attempted for a total of 450 marks. Those who score higher than the cutoff percentage will become eligible to attempt the UP PCS J 2024 Mains. There are two papers in the UP PCS J Prelims. The first paper deals with General knowledge and the second paper deals with Law. The UP PCS J prelims hold a total of 450 marks. Paper- 1 (General Knowledge) may be attempted for 150 marks while Paper- 2 (Law) may be attempted for 300 marks. In the preliminary exams, incorrect answers will face negative marking with 0.33 marks cut per wrong answer. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.

Upon clearing the prelims with the required cutoff, candidates will be eligible to attempt the mains exams. The mains exams consist of 6 papers and 1000 marks overall. The UP PCS J Mains Exam is for 1000 marks. These are split between 6 papers. Paper 1 (General Knowledge), Paper 4 (Law - I), Paper 5 (Law - II) and Paper 6 (Law - III) are for 200 marks. Paper 2 (English) and Paper 3 (Hindi) are for 100 marks each. Marks scored in the UP PCS J 2024 Mains, combined with the marks scored in the interview round shall determine the selection of the candidate.

The UP PCS J 2024 interview round will be conducted for 100 marks. The candidate’s suitability for the position will be determined depending on the marks obtained from both the main examination and the interview. Hope you are doing well!! There are total of four attempts for a candidate between the age of 21 - 30 years for UP PCS J examination. For SC/ST candidates there is no limited attempts they can appear for it as many times as they want till the age of 35 years.
