UPSC Civil Services Exam
Hii student,
82.2% is actually a good percentage from ICSE BOARDS. You can pursue both the career options. One of the best way to join Indian Army is through NDA examination that you can appear, just after completing your higher secondary education. You can be an IAS officer by cracking UPSC examination but will need to complete your graduation first to appear for the same.
Both has bright prospects and gives you a chance to serve the nation.
Best of luck for your future.
Hope it helps!!

Ncert books are more preferable over any state board books be it Punjab or any other state board books.

Hey Muneer
See, there is no need for you to do a phd to become an ias officer. If you want to do a phd then you can first clear ias exam first as the maximum age to apply for IAS is 32 years. It takes around 10 years(minimum) to get a UG, PG and then PhD degree in India (that means you will probably be 28 years old if you give your 12th at the age 18 and do not drop for even a year). Clearing IAS is not that easy hence that will take some time too. Also, what is the use of getting a PhD if you have to become an IAS officer.
The best path according to me will be to first clear graduation and then IAS after which you can do PhD. All the best.
Make a proper schedule for yourself. Plan and set your targets for that particular day and complete that target honestly. If you keep completing your target every single day, you will get closer to your journey. Keep reading NCERT books for history of India and Art and culutre. Also solve previous year papers as they help you get a bettwe view of types of questions being asked..

Best wishes. Thank you.
Amar, UPSC is a 3 stage selection process involving Prelims, Mains and Interview which tests your personality test. Prelims has 2 Papers namely General Studies and CSAT.
If you look at the syllabus, Commerce is not there in the Prelims. But yes it will help you when you select your Optional subject. So when you are choosing a stream to be qualified for UPSC, you should also have a Plan B in mind. You should select a course that interests you, the material is easily available and that subject that you choose has had Candidates who topped in the previous years. So that way you know you have chosen the right subject. And also the stream you select should help you have a career if things with UPSC don't go as planed. So B.Com (//B.Com) LLB is a nice option between B,Com LLB and B.Com (//B.Com) Hons.
If you want to become an IAS officer then first of all you need to be a graduate in any subject so after your 12th you need to do graduation and then you need to appear in one of the toughest examination called UPSC, and it has 3 stages which are listed below :-
*The first stage of the exam is Preliminary examination (objective )
*The second stage, Mains (written).
*If you manage to clear both prelims and mains then you are to go through third stage i.e interview/personality test .
And if you managed to clear all the three rounds mentioned above, then congratulations you may become an ias officer
