which one is better study iq vs unacademy for UPSC with WBPCS ex.

jai shing 29th Nov, 2021

StudyIQ and Unacademy are trustworthy platforms for any entrance test preparation. However, StudyIQ has better content, uniform teaching techniques and enthusiastic coaches who help students learn better and faster. Everything is taught to view more as a story than as a syllabus, which helps in making learning easier. For UPSC, everything is updated monthly, and the cost of courses are lesser in comparison to Unacademy. Often students have given Study IQ positive feedbacks as one of the main features of the platform is that students can study at their own pace, in their own time and still come out on top.

should i read newspaper for wbcs? if yes then which newspaper should i read and which section? for Current Affairs, achievers or pratiyogita darpan which is better? Is 6 months current affairs enough before exam?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 27th Jul, 2020

hi,

reading news papers is a really good choice to gain your knowledges of current affairs, now coming to wbcs exam it would be best if you have idea of last 1 year current affairs. you may study bankars adda magazine, also pratiyogita darpan is a good option. also you may follow last year papers of wbcs and ssc exams current years gk questions. I would recommend times of India, since it has better upto date information. however you may also read regional papers.

wbcs is one of the toughest exam , every year numerous students apply for the exam, so beside study you must practice a lot. it would be best if you follow a daily routine and manage your studies on schedule.

best of luck for your future endeavor.

list Optional subjects are taking by maximum candidates in wbcs exam...

ojaswiyolo Student Expert 25th Jul, 2020

Hey Shuva

I would like to tell you that please dont choose your optional subjects by the list of the subjects that is taken by maximum candidates but on the basis of what subjects you like and want to persue. Be it history, polity, sociology or anything else the only thing that matters is how good you can be at that subject.

However over the years the subjects which have been chosen as optional by most students were psychology, literature(native language), zoology, anthropology, mathematics etc (depending on the stream you are from).

There are a few things you need to keep in mind while choosing your optional subject:

If the study material for that subject is available

If that subject will get you good scores

Your interest, aptitude and capacity

Time you need to study that subject

If the syllabus of that subject is overlapping other subjects taken by you.
