UGC NET 2020 - National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the UGC NET 2020 application form deadline to May 16. The authorities had released the UGC NET application along with the notification on March 16 at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Applicant could earlier apply for UGC NET 2020 between March 16 to April 16 by visiting the same website which has now been extended due to COVID - 19 outbreak. In case applicants fill any wrong information in their UGC NET 2020 application form they can edit the information between the allotted time frame, the date of which will be intimated later. NTA will conduct UGC NET 2020 exam between June 15 to 20 in online mode. NTA UGC NET 2020 is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Assistant Professor both, in Indian universities and colleges. The exam of UGC NET will be conducted for two papers on two shifts. UGC NET exam is conducted twice a year in June and December to shortlist the candidates for providing teaching eligibility certificates.

Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 in UGC NET 2020 will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers. UGC NET 2020 Application Form

NTA has released the UGC NET application form 2020 for June session from March 16 in online mode. The last date of submitting the application form of UGC NET 2020 is May 16 (extended). In the UGC NET 2020 application form, candidates have to enter their personal details like name, gender, age etc, educational details, upload their scanned photograph, signature and pay the application fee. Candidates can apply for UGC NET 2020 in “Online'' mode only. Candidates must ensure that they mention their correct and active email address and mobile number in the UGC NET application form 2020 as all communication by NTA will be done only through email or SMS on given mobile number. UGC NET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

NTA will prescribe the UGC NET eligibility criteria 2020. The candidate must meet the UGC NET 2020 eligibility criteria to be considered eligible to appear for the exam and avoid any cancellation of their candidature for the lack of documentary proof at the later stage. The eligibility criteria include requirements based on age and educational qualification.

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Educational Qualification

  • Candidates with a minimum of 55% marks in Master’s degree in Humanities and Social Science (including languages), Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science etc. from UGC-recognized university/institutions or equivalent are eligible to apply for UGC NET 2020.

  • Candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PWD/Transgender category are required to have at least 50% marks in Master’s degree to appear for UGC NET 2020.

  • For candidates applying for JRF, the upper age limit is 30 years of age

UGC NET Admit Card 2020

NTA will release the UGC NET 2020 admit card online at the official website few days before the date of examiantion. The candidates must download the admit card and appear at the examination centre on date and shift mentioned on their admit cards. The admit card will contain details like candidates’ name, roll number, NET subject, exam centre, exam date, shift for candidates, exam day instructions etc. The candidates also need to carry a photo identification proof (Passport, Driving Licence, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card) along with their UGC NET admit card 2020. The name on the photo identification proof must match with the name recorded on the admit card.

UGC NET 2020 Exam Pattern

The test will consist of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers. There is no negative marking and no marks will be deducted for any wrong answer. Each correct answer will be given 2 marks. The total duration of the exam will be 3 hours.

UGC NET Syllabus 2020

The NTA-UGC has updated the syllabus of UGC NET 2020 and candidates can download this updated syllabus for all NET subjects from the UGC website ugcnetonline.in/syllabus-new.php. Paper 1 is the same and common for all candidates. The syllabus for Paper I will be based on teaching and reasoning ability, general awareness, comprehension and divergent thinking of the candidates. Paper 2 is subject-based and candidates can select one subject from a list of 101 subjects. Some of the subjects are Economics, Commerce, Psychology, Management, Malayalam, German, Music, etc.

UGC NET Books 2020

The candidates must know the best and recommended books to prepare for UGC NET. UGC NET exam consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. UGC NET Cut off 2020

The candidates need to score the UGC NET cut off to qualify the exam. UGC NET cut off is the minimum qualifying marks that the candidates have to score to be eligible for Assistant Professorship and JRF in Indian universities and colleges. The qualifying cut-off in Paper 1 and Paper 2 for Eligibility for Assistant Professor and JRF is determined by UGC. The important factors that are considered while deciding the cutoff marks for UGC NET 2020 are the availability of seats, number of applicants and difficulty level of the exam etc.

UGC NET 2020 Result

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare the result of UGC NET 2020 June session by July 15. The UGC NET result 2020 will be declared online on NTA website www.ntanet.nic.in. Candidates can check their result by entering their application number and date of birth in the login window. The candidates will not be individually informed about their result. There will be no re-checking of the result. The qualifying criteria will be decided by UGC and it will be final and binding.
