NTA closed the UGC NET 2021 application correction window on September 12. The National Testing Agency (NTA) opened the UGC NET application correction window on September 7. Previously, NTA had released the revised UGC NET exam date 2021 in online mode on the official website - ugcnet.nta.nic.in. NTA ended the UGC NET application form filling process on September 5, 2021. Students could pay the application fees of UGC NET 2021 till September 6, 2021. NTA released the UGC NET notification and application form for June 2021 session on August 10, 2021. The slots of JRFs of both UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycles has been merged, while the methodology for subject wise cum category wise allocation of JRFs shall remain unchanged.

What is UGC NET Exam ?
NTA conducts the NTA UGC NET exam twice a year. The UGC NET 2021 exam is conducted to determine the eligibility for Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Assistant Professor or Lecturers. Those candidates who qualify the UGC NET result 2021 will be provided with a UGC NET eligibility certificate. The validity of the certificate for lectureship is for a lifetime whereas the fellowship certificate is valid for 3 years.

NTA will release the UGC NET 2021 admit card in online mode on the official website tentatively by last week of September 2021. Applicants must download the NTA UGC NET admit card and present it at the examination centre on the day of the exam. Information such as the name of the candidate, roll number, NET subject, exam centre, exam date, applicant change, exam day instructions, etc. will be included in the admit card. Applicants must also carry a photo identity card (Passport, Driving License, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card) along with their 2021 UGC NET hall ticket. The name displayed on the proof of photo identification must match the name shown on the UGC NET admit card.

National Testing Agency releases the list of UGC NET exam centres 2021 on its official website. UGC NET exam centres 2021 are the cities and towns where the exam will be conducted. Candidates planning to appear for the entrance exam can check the NTA UGC NET exam centres to know in which cities it will take place. While filling the application form candidates will have to enter the top 4 preferences of UGC NET exam centres where they want to take the test. There will be two papers for the UGC NET 2021 exam. Both the papers consist of multiple-choice questions. No break between papers is going to take place. The syllabus of UGC NET 2021 has been revised by the NTA-UGC and candidates can download the updated UGC NET syllabus from the UGC website here for all NTA UGC NET subjects. For all candidates, Paper 1 is similar and common, the syllabus for Paper I will be focused on the candidates' teaching and reasoning ability, general knowledge, understanding and divergent thought. Paper 2 is subject-based and, from a list of 81 subjects, candidates may choose one subject. Economics, commerce, psychology, management, Malayalam, German, music, etc., as per their preference.
While preparing for UGC NET, applicants need to know the best and recommended books. The UGC NET exam consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. For all candidates, Paper 1 is standard and candidates should refer to the same list of recommended books for UGC NET Paper 1. Since Paper 2 is subject-based, books for various subjects such as trade, economics, management etc. will be different. Candidates must purchase books that accurately and specifically cover the content and topics. There are two forms of UGC NET cutoff: subject wise cut off marks and qualifying marks will be referred to by NTA in the notification. At least 40 per cent marks must be secured by general category candidates, while reserved category candidates (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PWD, and transgenders) must score a minimum of 35 per cent marks in both the NTA UGC NET papers. These minimum qualification marks apply to applicants who are eligible for an Assistant Professor as well as a JRF. NTA will release the cut off of UGC NET separately for candidates who qualify for lectureship and JRF. The cut-off of the UGC NET 2021 shows the category-wise and subject-wise cut off marks along with the total number of eligible candidates who have appeared in all categories for each subject.
NTA prescribes the UGC NET eligibility criteria. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for UGC NET 2021 in order to be eligible for the exam and to prevent any cancellation of their candidacy due to the lack of documentary evidence at a later stage. The UGC NET criteria for eligibility include provisions based on age and qualifications for education.
UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2021 – Educational Qualification
Applicants with a Master's degree in Humanities and Social Sciences (including languages), Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc. with a minimum of 55% marks from UGC-recognized universities/institutions or equivalents are eligible to apply for UGC NET 2021.
Candidates belonging to the group OBC/SC/ST/PWD/Transgender must have at least 50 per cent Master's degree marks to apply for UGC NET 2021.

Eligibility criteria for UGC NET is as follows:
1) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Masters Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.
