hey subhashini
I dont know what language your question is in. But I guess I could understand what you mean.
It is "i an doing my BTech, how to prepare for IAS.?" right?
If it is so, then follow my answer.
Since UPSC is not an easy exam, you have to put in a lot of effort to manage both BTech and UPSC. You cant afford to lose either of them.
So, Get Hindu newspaper and make it sure to read all the important news and make not of it. This can keep you updated in current affairs.
Your NCERT books of class 6 - 12 are the best for all upsc exams. So never neglect NCERT books. Make a thorough study of it. This will the core for you social - history , polity, economy, geography. It is the only best book.
For aptitude, comprehension and basic numery, all your engineering subjects are enough. I would say more than enough. Because, it is just test for aptitude and basic problem solving abilities. WHich engineers do every day.
For science and math, be thorough with portions of class (till) 12th and also that of engineering. So it will help you a lot.
NOTE: This is not exact preparation for IAS, I just gave an idea for how to prepare during BTech. So, the best thing would be, make some preparation during BTech and make the best after you BTech. You have to prepare exclusively for UPSC to clear your IAS exams and interview which always follows.
I hope I answered You
Good Luck

Dear Praveen ,
After the 7th Pay Commission recommendation, the basic IAS Salary per month is Rs. 56100 (Excluding TA – travelling allowance, DA – Dearness Allowance, and HRA – House Rent Allowance.) But it will vary as per the grade level .The maximum basic salary that an IAS Officer can get, that is the salary of the highest post-Cabinet Secretary is Rs.2,50,000 per month.
Dear Candidate,
It is not possible to become an IAS Officer right after completing 12th standard. To become an IAS officer you must crack CSE exam held by UPSC.These exam has three different levels that is preliminary, mains and interview in order to get selected for training.
The basic eligibility criteria required to appear for this exam is – candidate must possess Graduate Degree from a recognized University/Institute.So technically, 12th passed students can’t appear for this exam right after 12th. After completing 12th, they must complete Graduation first. After completing Graduation program successfully, you can appear for CSE exam.

The UPSC examination is held for jobs inn the Indian Administrative Sector. For eligibility to the examination, you need to have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized Board or University. It is not mentioned what field it needs to be in, so you can go for any field of your preference.
As you have taken Science in your 10+2, you can go for Engineering(If you have Math), Medical(If you have Biology), Law, Humanities, Agriculture, etc. Honestly, no one can really tell you which field would be the best for you. That is a decision you should make.
Regardless, you should start researching History and keeping track of Current and World affairs as it will help you a lot for your UPSC journey.
