Sir i want to become an ias officer. Im from Telangana state Ive completed upto inter in Ts. which is best option for degree+civils course in hyderabad Institutions or sarat chandra ias academy in vijayawada??

Sohamsengupta8 30th Apr, 2022

Hello Student

First of all you have to take graduation with honours which will be better from social science or political science or economics or English. Completion of graduation you have to take admission in any of the reputed guidance or coaching centre or institution after verifying their activities and success record. If you are a student of Andhra Pradesh then your choice should be better if you get admission in any of the reputed institution for IAS guidance in Hyderabad.

Hope this will help.

My date of birth is 14 April 1991,category-general ,can I appear 2023 ias exam.

vyshnava kumar 19th Apr, 2022

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing absolutely great.

So with regard to your query, NO you cannot give the UPSC exam 2023. Because as per the eligibility criteria provided by UPSC, a candidate must be between the age of 21 to 32 years. And they must be born between 2 August 1991 to 1 August 2002. As you born before 2 August 1991 you are not eligible for the exam. This is for the year 2022.

The notification for 2023 is not yet released. But there will be some kind of age relaxation for Scheduled Castes and Tribes category i.e. they will be getting 5 years of age relaxation for this purpose. And also to the candidates belonging to OBC also gets three years of age relaxation. Further, if you belong to any of these categories then you might get age relaxation and write the exam. However, if you are from general category, then you won't get any kind of relaxation.

You can checkout the following link regarding the age eligibility criteria of UPSC: https://www.upsc.gov.in/sites/default/files/Notif-CSP-22-engl-020222F.pdf

Hope this helps you,

Thank you.

Hello Aspirant  ,

Both UPSC and NEET are one of the most famous and competitive exams in India ,You can also give both the exams without any problem .

As you know chances of selection in UPSC CSE is very low so everyone should have a backup plan and if you qualify NEET and get a good college you will have a very good backup and bright future so even if you unfortunately fail you will have a backup .

You can do your UPSC preparation during your course period and also choose  a medical optional which will help you get better marks .

Hope this helps.

mandavi mishra 25th May, 2022

Hello Deepa,

Hope you're doing great and it's good to see that you're clear about what you want in your life at such an early age but you should know that UPSC is one of the toughest exams in India and minimum eligibility criteria for it is graduation so for now I'd advise you to opt for whichever stream you find interesting. Side by side you can keep on looking the UPSC syllabus and read as much as you can. As UPSC paper consists of an optional paper so you can complete your graduation and then decide which subject you'll opt for it. Currently I'd advise you to go for subjects and stream you have interest in.

Please find attached the syllabus of UPSC examination.

-----------------------------------) Discipline is the key to crack UPSC, so you need to make a routine/ time table and follow it .

----------------------------------)Read newspaper like the Hindu or Indian Express  and magazines like Yojana, Kurukshetra, Economic and Political Weekly  to keep yourself updated with the current events and issues.

----------------------------------) take short breaks in between your studies, studying continuously can be brain tiring and it becomes difficult to focus and study with concentration, so take breaks to relax and refresh your brain otherwise you won't be able to retain whatever you read.

-----------------------------------)Choose your optional subject wisely , choose the subject you have interest in.

----------------------------------)Make short notes for each subject, these will be your life saviour and will help you in your revisions a lot as syllabus is wide

----------------------------------)Set daily goals like I have to cover these many topics today, weekly goals like I have to  cover these chapters this week and practice their questions too, by the end of this week and similarly set monthly goals to cover the syllabus and meet them without any fail.

----------------------------------)Revise :- there's no point of preparing for the exam if you couldn't recall anything in the UPSC Examination so you should stress on revision as well.

----------------------------------) Your mains examination is in written, so you need to work your speed and also work on improving how to present the knowledge you have on paper, so answer writing practicing should be your priority

----------------------------------)Solve previous year question papers and mock test papers ;- You should solve these , it will give you idea of types of questions asked and their difficulty level and will help you a lot.

----------------------------------)Also work on your communication skills and personality development as it plays an important role in your interview round.
