About SSC JHT 2023

Staff Selection Commission released the final result of SSC JHT 2023 online at ssc.gov.in. Candidates were able to pick their SSC JHT option cum preference from February 22 to 26, 2024. The SSC JHT 2023 paper 2 exam was conducted on December 31, 2023. Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC JHT 2023 answer key for paper 2 on the official website. The SSC JHT result 2023 for Paper 1 was announced on November 23.
Latest: The Staff Selection Commission launched a new official website - ssc.gov.in; Students need to complete the One Time Registration on the new SSC website. Candidates can also access the old web portal by using the link on the new website.

SSC released the SSC JHT notification 2023 on August 22, 2023. Along with the notification, the commission has also released the SSC JHT application form 2023. The SSC JHT application form has been released in online mode only. Candidates before applying for the SSC JHT, go through the SSC JHT 2023 notification. The notification of SSC JHT 2023 contains all the details related to the SSC JHT exam like application form dates, fee payment, eligibility and more. Earlier , the commission announced the SSC JHT exam dates 2023 on the official website.

SSC conducts the SSC JHT exam for the combined recruitment of Junior Hindi Translators, Junior Translators, Senior Hindi Translators, and Hindi Pradhyapak. SSC JHT exam is conducted in three stages - Paper 1, Paper 2 and Document Verification (DV). On the basis of the marks secured in Paper 1, candidates are selected for Paper 2. SSC Junior Hindi Translator 2023 Paper I is a computer-based exam while Paper II is a pen and paper-based exam.

Candidates have to qualify in both to be called for document verification. Candidates who will meet the SSC JHT eligibility 2023 will be eligible to apply for SSC Junior Hindi Translator 2023 exam. The selection of candidates for the SSC JHT posts will be region-wise and as per their performance in both Paper I and Paper II as well as the authenticity of their candidature through document verification.

SSC Junior Hindi Translator 2023 Nationality

The candidate must be either from

  • India, or

  • Bhutan, or

  • Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 and settled permanently in India or,

  • Indian origin migrants who came to India to settle from  United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Pakistan, East African countries of Kenya, Burma, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Sri-Lanka, Uganda, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

SSC Junior Hindi Translator 2023 Age Limit

Candidates must not be more than 30 years of age.

SSC Junior Hindi Translator 2023 application form correction link has been activated at ssc.gov.in on September 13. The application form of SSC JHT was closed on September 12. The commission released the SSC JHT application form in online mode on August 22. SSC JHT application form can be filled in two parts – part 1 and part 2 till September 12.

Candidates have to furnish details of any photo identity proof like Aadhar card, Voter Card, PAN, School/College ID, Driving License, Employer ID, Passport, or left thumb impression. Only male candidates belonging to General and OBC have to pay Rs. 100 as the application fee.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH and females are exempted from fee payment. In order to pay the application, candidates could choose any mode of payment either online or offline through SBI Challan and net banking/credit/debit.

SSC JHT 2023 Registration – Part 1

In part 1 of registration, new users have to register to generate a one-time registration ID and password to fill the SSC JHT 2023 application form whereas the existing users can log in with the registration ID and password generated earlier. To proceed further, candidates have to fill basic details like name, gender, nationality, date of birth etc. Upload scanned photograph, signature and click on the ‘submit’ button. The details about the registration and password were sent to the candidate's email ID provided by him/her while filling the application form.

SSC JHT 2023 Registration – Part 2

To log in to part 2 of the SSC Junior Hindi Translator 2023 application form, candidates have to enter their registration ID and password. Candidates have to select the exam centres, choose the mode of payment, pay the requisite fee and submit the application fee. Candidates also have to take the printout of the application for future references.

  • Candidates appearing for SSC JHT must know the syllabus before starting their preparation.

  • As per syllabus candidates must start making notes and collect the study materials.

  • Candidates must make a proper timetable and prepare accordingly.

  • They must also take some breaks while studying.

  • Solve the previous years’ question paper to know the exam pattern, types of questions asked etc.

The exam pattern of SSC JHT has been prescribed by SSC. The written exam of SSC JHT comprises two papers – Objective and Conventional type. The objective type questions was conducted in computer-based mode while conventional type paper 2 will be descriptive in nature.

Part 1 objective type paper comprises two subjects – General Hindi and General English. Conventional type paper comprises questions related to translation and essay. There will be a scheme of negative marking for objective type where 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Exam Pattern of SSC JHT - Paper 1

The questions asked in paper of SSC JHT will be designed to test the candidates’ understanding of and literature, phrases and idioms, languages correct use of words, and ability to write the languages correctly, precisely and effectively. The questions will be asked at the graduation level.

SSC JHT Paper 2 Exam Pattern

The question paper of Part 2 will have two passages for translation-one passage for translation from Hindi to English and one for translation from English to Hindi, and an Essay each in Hindi and English, to test the candidates’ translation skills and their ability to write in both the languages.

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC JHT admit card for paper 1 on October 9 at its official regional website. Candidates who qualify the SSC JHT paper 1 will be able to download SSC JHT Admit Card 2023 paper 2. The admit card consists of the candidate's photograph & signature, roll number, exam centre details and address. Candidates should bring their SSC JHT 2023 hall ticket along with a valid ID proof. Only candidates who will bring the admit card will be able to appear for SSC Junior Hindi Translator 2023.

SSC declared the final result of SSC JHT 2023 online on March 1, 2024 at ssc.gov.in. SSC JHT result for paper 1  has been released in the form of pdf on November 23 where candidates can check the list of qualified candidates. The result pdf of SSC JHT contains the roll number, name and category of all the qualifying candidates. Candidates can check their scorecards on their dashboards through the 'Candidate Login' window.

Marks obtained by candidates in Paper 1 are normalized to announce the result as the exam was conducted in multiple sessions. Candidates have to obtain score equal or above the cutoff to be eligible to appear for Paper 2.

SSC JHT Paper 2 Result

The result of SSC JHT Paper 2 will be released for the candidates who qualify the cutoff released by the commission. SSC JHT result of Paper 2 is available in pdf form along with the name and roll number of qualified candidates. Candidates can check their result by downloading the pdf available on the official website.

The cutoff of SSC JHT Paper 1 has been released by the Commission on November 23 at ssc.gov.in. Candidates have to score above to the cutoff marks to be eligible to appear for the next round of the selection process. SSC JHT cutoff for SSC JHT is released separately for Paper 1, 2 and final. Candidates qualifying the cutoff are eligible to appear for Paper 2. SSC JHT cut off is released category-wise.

SSC JHT Paper 2 Cutoff

The cutoff of Paper 2 will be fixed by the commission. Candidates selected on the basis of cutoff released by SSC will have to appear for document verification. SSC JHT final cutoff will be based on the marks obtained by last selected candidates.

The candidates who appear for the document verification will be only considered for the final selection. SSC will release the cutoff category-wise and post-wise where candidates can check their marks obtained in Paper 1, 2 and last selected candidates.

I have completed Master degree in english literature but dont have any translation diploma, am i eligible for SSC jht exam?

YES, you are eligible for SSC JHT exam 2022.

The eligibility criteria for SSC JHT exam 2022 is as follows :

1. the candidate must not be over 30 years of age. 30 years is the maximum age limit.

II. The candidate must have the following educational qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in English with Hindi or vice versa as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level

  • Or master’s degree in any subject, with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subjects or medium of examination

  • Or master’s degree in any subject, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or with one as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject.

Ive completed my graduation from du and pg diploma in translation from ignou...am i elligble for ssc jht?

Hope you are doing great.As you have completed your graduation and pg diploma in translation ,now you are eligible for SSC jht examination.SSC JHT exam requires masters in hindi or english or diploma that you have done .If you have not finished your masters then no problem because you have your 2 year diploma that is enough to be appear for exam.

Ive just completed my bachelors in English from SOL-DU. I aspire to apply for SSC - JHT after my Masters. The only issue is that eligibility of SSC JHT says you need to have studied at least one English, one Hindi subject in your masters. Theres no such programme available at IGNOU that has both

see as per 2020 ssc jht notifications, below mentioned post are available for candidates through ssc jht;

A. Junior Translator in Central Secretariat Official

B. Junior Translator in M/o Railways (Railway Board

C.  Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters

D. Junior Translator (JT)/Junior Hindi Translator (JHT)

E.  Senior Hindi Translator in various Central

HOWEVER as per the notifications , this is not compulsory to have one english and one hindi in masters degree. candidates who has completed masters course in hindi with english as compulsory subject or have studied in english medium on degree level are eligible to apply. or candidates who has completed masters course in english  with hindi as compulsory subject or have studied in hindi medium on degree level are eligible to apply.

or

Anyone who gives SSC JHT exam please give detail knowledge about eligibility of (SSC JHT) ?

The educational qualification depends on the Post code that you want to apply for. For Post codes A to D, you need to have Master's degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or you can also have a Master's degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject. For Post Code E, you need to recognised Diploma or certificate course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice versa. So you need to either study in English medium and have Hindi as a language or vice versa.

Hello,

The eligibility depends on the post you are applying. For Post A to D you must have Master degree in Hindi with English as compulsory or elective or vice versa or Masters degree in any other subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as compulsory certificate or vice versa and you must have two years experience in translating Hindi to English or vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking and must have recognized diploma or certificate in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa. For post E you need three years experience and recognized diploma or certificate along with Masters degree in Hindi or English. For Post F Bachelor's or Master's in Hindi or English  with Hindi or English as compulsory or elective subject.

If you have required experience and have studied English subject you are eligible for it.
