Im a student of 3rd year B.Sc computer science, Im planning to register for AFCAT, My question is that what should I fill under "Aggregate/Gross" percentage? Since I havent finished my graduation. Thank you!

Sharon Rose Student Expert 19th Jun, 2020

Hello,

As you are in your final year of your graduation you are still an appearing candidate. You need to enter the percentage which you have obtained upto the last semester or year for which the results are declared. If you have semesters then you can enter the percentage which you have obtained uptill 5th semester if the results were declared if not enter the percentage which you have obtained uptill 4th semester. If there are no semesters then enter the percentage which you have obtained uptill 2nd year.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 14th Jun, 2020

To appear in AFACT through written examination you don't need to appear for CPSS/PABT initially. But once you clear the AFACT test and want to join the Flying Branch subjective to fulfilling the eligiblity criteria, then CPSS/PABT becomes a compulsory test and you get a chance for it once in a lifetime.

my dream is to become air force pilot.so I m preparing for AFCAT.but as I belongs yo female gender should I know when I can apply for AFCAT.and also if I wouldnt get select in IAF then is there any other option?

Bhawna Mehbubani 28th May, 2020

Dear Manali,

Girls can join the IAF only through AFCAT after your graduation. There is still a possibility of entry through NCC if you hold a 'C' certificate.

You can also apply after your BTech. With your BTech, you would be eligible for Technical branch (depending on your specialisation in BTech) or for the Flying branch as well.

Feel free to put down your queries in the comment section.

Hello Aspirant,

Unfortunately you are not eligible for IAF AFCAT.

There is no post for candidates holding Diploma degree in Indian air force. For joining any post in Indian Air Force, one must possess a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level. And a Graduation with a minimum of 3 years degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or a B.Tech degree.

I hope this helps.
