UPPSC 2018 – The preliminary examination of UPPSC was conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) across 22 cities in Uttar Pradesh in two shifts on October 28. The exam was held in offline mode for two papers - General Studies 1 and 2. Paper 1 was held from 9:30 am - 11:30 am while Paper 2 was conducted from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm. The answer key of UPPSC has been released by coaching institutes after the completion of exam. Both Paper 1 and 2 carried 200 marks each. The admit card of UPPSC 2018 was issued on October 12 in the online mode. The exam was scheduled to be conducted on August 19 which was later postponed to October 28. The application form could be filled from July 6 to August 6, 2018.

UPPSC conducts the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Provincial Civil Services (P.C.S) and Assistant Conservator of Forest (A.C.F.) / Range Forest Officer (R.F.O.) services examination for recruitment to the various posts like Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Block Development Officer, Statistical Officer etc. Total 924 vacancies have been announced. UPPSC Answer Key 2018

The answer key of UPPSC Prelims for both Paper 1 and 2 has been released by coaching centres such as Neostencil, GovernmentAdda, etc. after the completion of exam. UPPSC answer key contains the correct answers to questions asked in the exam. The answer key is available for all sets of question booklets – A, B, C, D of General Studies Paper 1 and 2. Using the answer key, candidates can calculate their probable score. Candidates can raise objections against the official answer keys in the format provided by the commission. The objections should be sent to the conducting authority in a sealed envelop. Objections sent after the last date will not be considered. Challenges submitted by candidates will be scrutinised by the Commission after which the final answer key will be published.

UPPSC Admit Card 2018 

The admit card of UPPSC has been released online on October 12. Candidates can download UPPSC admit card till October 28 by entering basic credentials like registration number, date of birth, gender and verification code. The admit card will mention details like candidates name, roll number, registration number, photograph, signature, date, time and address of exam centre. UPPSSC admit card is an important document and candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam with the same. UPPSC admit card will be released for prelims, mains and personality test.

 

UPPSC Eligibility Criteria 2018

Applicants need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria to be eligible for UPPSC.

 

Age Limit:

Candidates should be between 21 to 40 years as on July 1, 2018 i.e. they must not have been born earlier than July 2, 1978 and not later than July 1, 1997. For PH candidates, the maximum age limit is 55 years i.e. they must not have been born before 02 July, 1963. For the post of Principal, Government Intermediate College (Boys or Girls), candidates must be 30 to 40 years as on July 1, 2018 i.e. they must not have been born earlier than July 2, 1978 and not later than July 1, 1988. Relaxation in upper age limit is be provided to domicile of UP (SC, ST, OBC), dependents of freedom fighters, Ex-Servicemen, Skilled players, PwD, Women and State government employees, Teachers.

 

Educational Qualification

Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (General Recruitment / Physically Handicapped – Backlog / Special Recruitment): The minimum educational qualification is graduation. However, academic qualification differs as per posts.

 

Assistant Conservator of Forest Posts:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subject- Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geology, Forestry, Statistics or

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Range Forest Officer

  • Bachelor's degree with two or more of subjects - Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Forestry, Geology, Agriculture, Statistics, Horticulture and Environment or

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or

  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science

UPPSC Application Form 2018

The application form of UPPSC was available from July 6 to August 6, 2018. UPPSC application form could be filled in two parts. In Part I, candidates had to register for the exam. After registration, they could pay their examination fees. In Part II, applicants could fill the detailed application form, upload photograph and signature and agree to the declaration. Fee was Rs 125 for general and OBC which could be paid either online or offline. Candidates of UP domicile and outside UP could apply for UPPSC. Applicants could edit the details entered in the form only once before the last date of application. The detailed procedure to fill UPPSC application form is explained below:

 

How to fill UPPSC application form?

Part I: Registration

  • Candidates have to enter Personal Information like Type of Recruitment, Name, Father’s/husband's name, UP Domicile, Category, Sub Category, DOB, Gender, Marital status, Contact no, Email-ID, Qualification details, and other relevant information.

  • After entering verification code, click on ‘Submit’ button

  • Registration slip with 11 digit registration number will be generated

Payment of Fee

  • After completion of registration, candidates have to go to ‘Fee Deposition/Reconciliation’

  • Enter registration number, date of birth and gender and then click to Proceed for Payment option.

  • The mode of payment will be displayed – NET Banking Card payment and other modes.

  • Candidates opting for offline payment have to first deposit the fee to any of the bank branch only then they will be able to submit their application.

  • After depositing the fee, ‘Payment Acknowledgement Receipt (PAR)’ will be generated.

  • Candidates must take printout by clicking ‘Print Payment Receipt’

Part II: Filling application form in Details

  • Click on ‘Submit Application Form’ it will take candidates to Part II of application form.

  • Candidates have to provide their registration number, fee details, scanned photograph and signature along with some personal details.

  • Candidates have to enter their educational qualification and experience details.

  • Click on submit button to move to the next page where candidates can fill all information to complete the form submission.

  • Candidates have to upload photograph and signature in jpg, jpeg, gif, tif, png format of size not exceeding 50 kb.

  • At the top of the page there is a ‘Declaration’ for candidates. They have to agree to the declaration by clicking ‘ I agree’ or ‘I do not agree’ button and submit the application form.

UPPSC Exam Centres 2018

The preliminary examination of UPPSC will be held in Agra, Allahabad, Azamgarh, Barabanki, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Etawah, Faizabad, Ghaziabad, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, Meerut, Moradabad, Rae Bareli, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Varanasi, Mainpuri and Mathura. Candidates have to fill their preferences of exam centres in the application form. The details of UPPSC exam centres will be mentioned in the admit card. There will be separate exam centres for mains examination.


UPPSC Exam Pattern 2018

The exam pattern of UPPSC for Preliminary, Mains and Personality Test is explained below: 

UPPSC Preliminary Examination

  • This stage comprises of two papers – General Studies Paper I and II.

  • The exam is being conducted offline.

  • Each paper carries 200 marks and is held for 2 hours.

  • Both the papers will consists of objective type multiple choice questions.

  • There will be 150 to 100 questions.

  • Paper I will be held from 9.30 to 11.30 am and paper II will be conducted from 2.30 to 4.30 pm.

  • Paper-II of the Preliminary Examination is a qualifying paper. Candidates have to secure 33% to qualify this paper.

  • The merit of candidates will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in Paper I of Preliminary Examination.

UPPSC Mains Examination

  • The written examination of mains examination consists of compulsory and optional subjects.

  • Candidates have to select one subject from the list of optional subjects.

  • Compulsory Subject includes - General Hindi, Essay and General Studies (First, Second, Third and Fourth papers)

  • All papers will be conventional type except General Studies I, II and III which will comprise objective type questions and candidates will be allotted 3 hours to solve the questions.

  • 200 marks have been allotted for each optional question paper.

  • Exam will be conducted from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm

  • Candidates have to obtain minimum marks in the compulsory paper of General Hindi

  • There will be two sections in all the question papers of Optional subject. Each section will include four questions.

  • Candidates are required to answer only five questions while they must select minimum two questions from each section.

  • There will be three sections in the question paper of Essay.

  • Candidates will have to select one topic from each section and they are required to write essay in 700 words on each topic.

Personality Test

This test will be held for 100 marks. This will assess a candidate’s academic records, general awareness, intelligence, character, expression power/personality and general suitability for the service.

The syllabus of UPPSC has been prescribed by the exam conducting authority. UPPSC syllabus comprises the topics from different sections of Prelims and Mains exam.   • Current events of national and international importance

  • History of India and Indian National Movement.

  • Indian Polity and governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues etc

  • General Issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization.

UPPSC Result 2018

The result of UPPSC will be declared in three stages – Prelims, Mains and Final. First the result of prelims exam will be declared followed by the declaration of the result of mains exam. The final result will be declared after the conduct of the Personality Test. UPPSC result of Prelims will be declared in December 2018. The result will be available online and candidates have to enter registration number, date of birth, gender and verification code to check result and download marksheet. On the basis of the marks obtained in General Studies Paper I and II of Prelims, candidates will be selected for the mains exam. Candidates 18 times the number of vacancies will be selected for the mains exam based on UPPSC result of prelims. Based on UPPSC result of mains exam, candidates three times the number of vacancies will be selected for Personality Test. The final result will be declared based on the candidate’s performance in mains exam and Interview. In 2016-17, total 250696 candidates appeared out of 436413 applicants. Total 14615 qualified the prelims exam.

 

UPPSC Cutoff 2018

The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to secure to qualify the exam and become eligible for next round of selection process. UPPSC releases cutoff for prelims, mains and interview as per different posts. On the basis of UPPSC cutoff candidates are declared qualified for each stage of the recruitment process.
