Hrisheekesh Singh 29th May, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See if you are applying for AFCAT then you must satisfy it's eligibility criteria. For Flying branch there is different eligibility criteria and for Ground Duty it is different. So according to the data mentioned by you you are only eligible for flying branch if you have secured 60% marks in Mathematics and Physics and you must have a bachelor's degree which you already own otherwise you are not eligible for Flying Branch.

For Ground duty, you are only eligible for Administration and Logistics department on the basis of your graduation degree.

If the student has a diploma and graduation he didnt have 12th, after 10th he took the diploma and bachelor degree engineering, is he eligible for AFCAT?

Kritika Chopra 7th Jul, 2021

Hello Aditya,

To begin with, it must be noted that educational qualifications required are different for different branches of AFCAT.

Mainly there are 3 branches for AFCAT:

  1. Flying Branch
  2. Ground Duty (Technical): Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) & Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical).
  3. Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Administration and logistics & Logistics.

In Ground Duty(Non-Technical) branch, 12th score is NOT required. Whereas, in rest of the branches, 12th score is required with a minimum of 60% each in Physics and Mathematics.

So, the student who didn't appear for 12th examination, is eligible for AFCAT, only in Ground Duty (Non-Technical) branch.
