sir kindly tell me, Am I eligible for CDS-2, 2021( my date of birth is 25 /03/1996) , I am a female candidate, want to apply CDS -2 and AFCAT -2 , KINDLY Guide me 🙏🙏

Karam Vir 15th Dec, 2020

Hi,

Under CDS, female candidates are only eligible for training in OTA(Officers Training Academy, Chennai). So, for OTA the female candidates need to be between 19-25 years of age. Also, the female candidates need to be either unmarried, widow or divorced. While, joining the academy, you must be 25 years of age. So, if during joining time, your age will be more than 25 years of age, you will be no longer eligible.

For AFCAT, female candidates age should be between 20-24 years for sitting into the AFCAT examination. If, you sit for AFCAT, next year, you will not be eligible for it.

I am a diploma degree holder and now I am pursuing B-Tech. I have completed my 10th , after that I pursued diploma .I havent gone for the +2 examinations.I choosed diploma, can I give the AFCAT examinations after completing my B-Tech.

Subhrajit Mukherjee 12th Dec, 2020

The eligibility criteria for AFCAT have been provided below:

  • Minimum of 60% marks each in Maths & Physics at 10+2 level.
  • Graduates (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognised University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognised university with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.   or Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
  • Final Year students are also eligible to apply, provided they do not have any backlog at the time of AFSB Testing and produce Degree certificate issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.

So you aren't eligible without your 10+2 result. But you can get through it by joining open schools and I think this will not hamper your studies very much. It will be hard to manage but It's never impossible.

Goodnight!

Hi Dear,

Yes, you are eligible for AFCAT exam after completion of your BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent. The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted twice a year by the Indian Air Force for selection of  Officers in Flying and Ground Duties. If you are just a diploma holder then you are not eligible for AFCAT exam. However, Diploma + Engineer graduates are eligible for AFCAT.
