About OSSTET 2023

Board of Secondary Education, Odisha issued the OSSTET admit card 2023 on January 12, 2024 on the official website. The board activated the OSSTET application form 2023 in online mode on the official website on December 11, 2023. The Last date to fill the OSSTET application form 2023 is  December 22, 2023. Candidates must check the OSSTET 2023 eligibility criteria before filling the application form.

The eligibility criteria for OSSTET 2023 is based on factors like nationality, must know reading and writing in Odia, and basic educational qualification. Candidates can appear for the test as many times as they wish, there are no restrictions on the number of attempts. The exam will be conducted for two papers and will consist of multiple-choice questions.

All the appearing candidates have to finish the OSSTET 2023 within 2 hours and 30 minutes. The minimum qualifying marks for both the papers and for the General category is 60% whereas ST/SC/SEBC/PH candidates are required to score 50% marks. Selected candidates will be eligible to apply for the recruitment of teachers in Secondary School within the schools of Odisha.

OSSTET Paper 1 Eligibility Criteria

OSSTET Eligibility Criteria – Department – I

SubjectQualification
TGT (Science – PCM/ CBZ)
  • Candidates  must have a bachelor’s degree in science with any two of the subjects (PCM) or (CBZ) as optional/ Elective/ Pass with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and also they should have Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed) from an institute recognized by NCTE
  • Or, they need to have four years of integrated degree in B.Sc.B.Ed from a recognised institute by NCTE with any two subjects from   (PCM/CBZ) as honours/ optional/ Elective/ Pass with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university
TGT Arts
  • Candidates are required to have a four year integrated B.A.B.Ed from an institute recognised by NCTE in any two ( English, Odia, Hindi & Sanskrit and History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Indian Economy, Landmarks in Indian History, Indian Geography & Indian Polity) as optional/honours/elective/pass with aggregate 50% marks.

  • Or, they  must have a bachelor’s degree in arts/commerce in any two of the subjects ( English, Odia, Hindi & Sanskrit and History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Indian Economy, Landmarks in Indian History, Indian Geography & Indian Polity)


As  honours/ optional/ Elective/ Pass with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and also a B.Ed degree is required from an NCTE recognised university.
Hindi Teacher
  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 50% marks in one of the following:

a) Rastrabhasa Ratna from Rastrabhasa Prachar Samiti, Wardha

b)  Shastri Hindi from Odisha Rastrabhasa Parisad, Puri

c) Snataka, from Hindi Shiksya Samiti, Odisha, Cuttack

And  also they need one of the mentioned below training qualifications

a) Hindi Shishyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra

b) B.H.Ed course from NCTE recognised university/institute

c) B.Ed in Hindi from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras

  • Or, a bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 50% marks in Hindi as one of the honours/optional/Elective/Pass subject and any one of the following training qualifications

Classical Teacher – Urdu
  • They must have a B.A in the Persian language with an aggregate of 50% marks   and Urdu B.Ed or B.Ed from an institute/university recognised by NCTE.
  • Or,  Alim with aggregate of 50% marks

Classical Teacher – Telugu
  • Candidates must have a Telugu B.Ed from an institute/university recognised by NCTE and a bachelor’s degree in arts with Telugu and must have an aggregate of 50% marks.

Classical Teacher – Sanskrit
  • All  the candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit as  an optional/ honours/ elective/ pass subject with at least 50% marks  in aggregate and also, they must Siksha Shastri (Sanskrit) from any recognised University/ Institution by NCTE.

  • Shastri  (Sanskrit) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university AND Sikshya Shastri (Sanskrit), a course from a recognised University/ Institution.


OSSTET Paper 2 Eligibility Criteria

OSSTET 2023 Application Process

The application form of OSSTET 2023 has been released by the Board of Secondary Education in online mode for all the eligible candidates on December 11, 2023. Candidates can fill OSSTET 2023 application form by December 22, 2023.

The application process involves registration, payment of application fee (online or offline), filling up of details (personal details, eligibility details, educational details and declaration), uploading of all the required documents and taking printout of the application form.

After successful submission of the OSSTET application form 2023, candidates can appear for the exam (paper I and II) as per their preference and qualification. Candidates can check the detailed procedure below:

Registration:

Candidates are required to register first by using their name, email ID, mobile number and create a new password. After registration, a unique six digit registration number will be displayed on your screen. Note down the registration number for future reference.

Payment of application fee:

Before filling up the details, candidates have to pay the application fee in online or offline mode by using methods like Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card and cash payment through bank challan. After online payment, a DU reference number will be generated. After payment of OSSTET 2023 application fee, candidates will have to logout and wait for at least 12 hours (for authentication of DU reference number by the server).

Filling up of important details:

After an interval of 12 hours, candidates will have to go back and select application form to fill in the details. The application form has been divided into the following sections:

  • Eligibility details

  • Educational details and

  • Declaration

Final submission:

  • Enter all the information and upload all the required documents. After completing all the process, click on the declaration and submit your application form.
  • After final submission, take a printout and also save one copy for future reference.

The admit card of OSSTET 2023 was released by the exam conduction body in online mode on January 12, 2024 on the official website. Candidates who have successfully completed the application procedure will only be able to download their admit card.

OSSTET 2023 admit card will likely have details like name, time and date of examination, address of the examination centre and roll number. All the candidates are advised to take any one photo identity card along with the OSSTET admit card 2023.

If i joined the college alloted me in the first selection then how can i go for the 2nd round counselling for better college?

Hi,

I would like to inform you that in JEE counselling i.e. JoSAA, there are three choices available for seat. They are- freeze, float and slide. Once if you select freeze option, then you won't be able to go for further rounds. However, if you choose the rest two options, you can go for further rounds.
