About CGPSC State Service Exam 2023

Chhattisgarh Public Service commission had conducted the CGPSC SSE mains exam 2023 on June 24, 25, 26, & 27, 2024. The commission released the CGPSC SSE 2023 Mains application form again from May 8 to 9, 2024 at psc.cg.gov.in for those candidates who missed to apply for the examination. Previously, the CGPSC SSE application form 2023 was available from April 2 - May 2, 2024. 

CGPSC conducts the State Service exam for candidates who are graduates (in any stream) from a recognized university and have Indian nationality. The CGPSC SSE age limit of the candidates must be  21-30 years of age. Candidates have to apply online for the CGPSC SSE 2023 application form within the deadline. The selection of the candidates for CGPSC SSE is done on the basis of pre-exam or screening test and mains exam. Based on the candidates' performance in the pre-exam, candidates will be called for CGPSC SSE 2023 Mains.  Candidates need to appear in the same exam centre allotted on the admit card. However, any changes regarding the same will not be entertained. Candidates must note that the pre-exam acts as a screening test for CGPSC Mains 2023.

CGPSC eligibility criteria states that candidates should be Indian citizens as well as graduates (from any stream) of any university recognised by UGC Act 1956 (Section 3). Candidates must be physically and mentally fit. The age limit is 21- 29 years. Certain relaxation in terms of upper age limit is as follows:

  • 35 years for a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh.
  • For Chhattisgarh residents belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC categories, the limit can be extended up to 5 years.
  • Burmese candidates who migrated to India on or after June 1, 1963,/ Sri Lankan candidates who migrated to India on or before November 1, 1964,/ Bangladeshi candidates who migrated to India between January 1, 1964- March 25, 1971, receive a relaxation of up to 3 years.
  • If the aforementioned repatriates belong to the ST/ SC/ OBC categories, the limit is stretched up to 8 years.
  • Various other categories are also given age relaxation by the state of Chhattisgarh.

Prelims

Candidates can fill the CGPSC application form from December 1, 2023, onwards. They will fill and submit the application form by December 30, 2023. The application process was completely online and no physical submission of the CGPSC 2023 application form is accepted.

Mains

Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission released the CGPSC SSE Mains application form 2023 again from May 8 to 9, 2024 at psc.cg.gov.in. The SSE 2023 Mains exam is scheduled to be conducted from June 24 - 27, 2024. The CGPSC SSE 2023 application form was previously released between April 2 - May 2, 2024. Candidates shortlisted for mains exam have to fill up the mains application form in online mode. To fill CGPSC SSE application form, candidates have to follow these steps:

  • Registration
  • Filling up of important details
  • Uploading of scanned images (signature and photograph)
  • Payment of application fee 
  • Final submission of CGPSC application form 

Candidates are also given the provision to make correction in the application form.

Prelims

The CGPSC pre-exam includes two papers, both of 200 marks each. Each paper of CGPSC was conducted offline for a duration of 2 hours wherein candidates had to answer 100 MCQs. Every question had 5 choices. Candidates are awarded 2 marks for every correct answer whereas every incorrect answer was deducted 1/3 mark. 

The first paper is divided into two parts- General Studies and General Knowledge of Chhattisgarh. The second paper is an Aptitude Test.

Mains
