About TNPSC CESE 2023

Tamil Nadu Public Service commission released the TNPSC CESE 2023 results of the written exam on May 27, 2024 in online mode at tnpsc.gov.in. The TNPSC 2023 written exam was conducted on January 6, 7, 2024 in offline mode. Qualified candidates will be giving the TNPSC interview round which will be announced on the official website.  The TNPSC 2023 admit card was released on December 27, 2023.

TNPSC conducts the Combined Engineering Service exam (CESE) for the direct recruitment of Assistant Engineers (Civil & Electrical). TNPSC CESE exam consists of two successive stages i.e. Written Exam and Oral Test in the form of an interview. TNPSC CESE 2023 written exam is conducted in the offline mode across 15 cities. Based on the result of the written exam, candidates will be shortlisted for the Oral Test (Interview). Applications are invited only through online mode for the posts included in the TN CESE examination. Applicants should ensure their eligibility for TNPSC CESE Exam 2023 before applying.

The exam conducting authority released the TNPSC CESE 2023 application form in online mode on October 13, 2023. Eligible candidates will be able to fill the application form of TNPSC CESE 2023  along with the payment of the application form until November 11, 2023. Before filling the TNPSC CESE  application form 2023, candidates must go through the instructions carefully in order to avoid any mistakes. The TNPSC CESE application form correction window will be available from November 16 to 18, 2023. The following steps will help the candidates to fill the application form of TNPSC CESE 2023.

  • Applicants should apply only through online mode in the TNPSC’s Websites.

  • One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory before applying for any TNPSC CESE exam.

  • One Time Registration is valid for five years from the date of Registration.

  • It is important for the applicants to register their basic details through the ‘One-Time online Registration system on payment of Rs.150 (registration fee) and then applicants should apply online for this Combined Engineering Service Exam.

  • Applicants should have scanned image of their certificates, photograph, and signature in the prescribed format.

  • No applicant is permitted to generate more than one registration ID in the One Time Registration process.

  • After the completion of the OTR process, applicants should log in to the TNPSC’s website by using the Unique ID and password.

  • Applicants have to select the link to the TNPSC CESE exam 2023.

  • Applicants should fill the online TNPSC CESE 2023 application form without any mistakes.

  • Candidates need to upload the photo and signature in the necessary format.

  • TNPSC CESE exam fee has to be paid to post the uploading of photograph and signature.

Application Fee

  • Reserved categories (SC/ST/MBC/BC/Widow) need not pay the fee.
  • However, all other categories have to pay Rs.200 as an application fee.

Mode of Payment

  • Online mode: Applicants can pay the exam fee through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card (State Bank of India/Indian Bank)
  • Offline mode: Demand Draft/Postal Order.

After submitting the online application form, applicants can print or save the application form in PDF format for future use.

Applicants need to meet the TNPSC CESE eligibility criteria 2023 prescribed by the TNPSC. You can get mandatory details about the TNPSC CESE 2023 exam below. 

TNPSC CESE 2023 Age Limit

  • SC/ST/MBC/BC/Widow: No Age Limit (above 18 years)

  • Other categories: Candidates should have minimum of 18 years of age and a maximum 30 of years.

Note: Age relaxation is given for Differently Abled Persons (minimum 18 years - maximum 40 years) and Ex-servicemen (minimum 18 - maximum 48 years).

In order to prepare for TNPSC CESE 2023 examination, candidates must go through the steps below:

  • Candidates should follow the syllabus preferred by the TNPSC.

  • First of all, candidates should create a plan based on the number of days available for study.

  • Candidates should have a clear idea about the topics in the given syllabus.

  • Allocate study time for all sections in the syllabus based on the difficulty level.

  • Take a test every day by using the previous/sample question papers. If candidates follow this tip, it will improve their speed and accuracy.

TNPSC CESE  2023 admit card was released on the official website on December 27, 2023. So the candidates should check the website to download the TNPSC CESE 2023 hall ticket. Candidates should make sure that the particulars on the hall ticket contain no errors.

Candidates need to bring a prescribed valid photo identity proof which includes Voter ID Card, AADHAR Card, PAN, Card, Passport, Driving License and Photo ID authorized by Gazetted Officers to their respective exam centres on the day of examination. Candidates must keep in mind that they will not be allowed to appear for the examination in case they forget to bring the admit card of TNPSC CESE 2023.

TNPSC CESE 2023 answer key was published on January 19, 2024 on the official website. However, the date has not been announced for the same. Candidates can predict their marks before the declaration of the TNPSC CESE result by using the answer key. But the actual marks will be announced by the TNPSC later. 

The answer key of TNPSC CESE 2023 will have the correct answer options to the questions asked in the exam. In case of mistakes in the answer key, it shall be informed to TNPSC within one week from the date of result declaration. The genuine cases (if proved correct) will be considered for revision and the final answer key will be released later.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) declared the result of TNPSC CESE 2023 on May 27, 2024 on their official website. Candidates will be able to check the result of TNPSC CESE 2023 in the official PDF released by the Commission. The result of TNPSC CESE 2023 contains roll numbers of only those candidates who have qualified the written examination. 

Candidates who have qualified in the written examination of TNPSC CESE 2023 will have to further appear for the Oral Test. Counselling will be held in the commission’s office for all selected candidates for the posts that are included in the TNPSC CESE 2023 exam and the appointment order will be issued to the selected candidates.

TNPSC CESE 2023 cut off is the minimum qualifying marks required to clear the written test. TNPSC CESE 2023 cut off will be based on factors like the total number of candidates who appeared in the exam, performance of the candidates in the examination, the difficulty level of the exam and past year cut off trends. 

Cut off marks will be announced along with the result of TNPSC CESE 2023. Candidates will be called for the Oral Test based on the TNPSC CESE cut off marks. All candidates qualified for Oral Test will get the intimation via SMS.

The selection procedure of TNPSC CESE 2023 involves written exam, oral test, document verification and counselling. To be eligible for appearing in the oral exam, candidates have to qualify in the written test, and participation in the counselling and the document verification will be determined by qualifying the oral test. The final selection will be based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in the Written and Oral Test. 

Post the announcement of the final TNPSC CESE 2023 result, candidates have to participate in the counseling process which will be held in the commission’s office.
