UPSC invites applications for Officer, Assistant Director level vacancies

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications from interested candidates to fill in as many as 73 vacancies of various positions. The eligible candidates are required to apply in online mode through the official website of UPSC - www.upsconline.nic.in before the last date.

The last date of submission of online application form is March 17, 2016. Candidates can take the printout of the completed application form on or before March 18, 2016. Candidates are required to remit an amount of Rs. 25 as application fee, either at the bank counter or through net banking. All the female candidates and also the SC/ST/PH category candidates get an exemption from payment of application fee.

As per the selection procedure, the shortlisting of the candidates will be based on their performance in the interview to be conducted for the same. According to eligibility criteria, the recruitment authority has specified separate educational qualification for various positions. Check below the same.

Educational Qualification:

Air Safety Officer (Engineering) - Applicants must have a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from a recognized university or have passed associate membership examinations part II and III / sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India.

Assistant Director of Census Operation - Applicants must have a Master's degree in Statistics / Operation research or Mathematics (with Statistics) / Economics (with Statistics) / Commerce (with Statistics) / Anthropology (with Statistics) / Sociology (with Statistics) / Demography (with Statistics) from a recognized university. They must have an experience of three years in collection, tabulation, analysis and interpretation of Statistical data.

Assistant Director (Cipher) - Applicants must have a Master's degree in Mathematics from a recognized university or equivalent. They must have a 5-year experience in cipher duties at a cipher organisation in a responsible capacity.

Extra Assistant Directors - Applicants must have a degree in Telecommunications Engineering or in Electrical Engineering with Telecommunications Engineering as a special subject from a recognized university or equivalent master degree in Physics with wireless or electronics as a special subject from a recognized university or equivalent.

Deputy Legislative Council - Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from a university established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or they must have been a qualified legal practitioner for 8 years. Or they can have a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a university established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or they have practiced as a legal practitioner for 10 years.

Assistant Director Grade I (Costing) - Applicants must be an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or equivalent. They must have one-year experience in dealing with costing and financial problems.

Scientists 'B' (Civil Engineering) - Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institute and also have 3-year experience in the relevant branch of engineering.

Age limit:

Air Safety Officer (Engineering) - 35 years
Assistant Director of Census Operation - 35 years
Assistant Director (Cipher) - 40 years
Extra Assistant Directors - 30 years
Deputy legislative Council - 55 years
Assistant Director Grade I (Costing) - 35 years
Scientists 'B' (Civil Engineering) - 35 years

A relaxation in age will be provided to various category candidates as per government norms.

Extra Assistant Directors - Rs. 9,300-34,800 (PB-2), along with Rs. 4,800 (Grade Pay) (T.E.  Rs. 30,879/- Approx.) plus TA and HRA as admissible

 

Deputy legislative Council - Rs. 15,600-39,100 (PB-3), along with Rs. 7,600 (Grade Pay) (T.E. Rs. 50,808/- Approx.) plus TA and HRA as admissible
