UPSC Civil Services 2016 prelims result declared; around 15,445 qualifies for Mains
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had announced the results for UPSC Civil Services 2016 preliminary exam on September 16, 2016. Around 15, 445 candidates have qualified for the UPSC Civil Services 2016 mains examination, scheduled to be conducted on December 3, 2016. The UPSC Civil Services 2016 prelims result has been declared in the form of roll numbers of qualified candidates. The declared result list consist roll numbers of only those candidates who have secured a sectional as well as overall aggregate qualifying mark as per their caste categories. The test was conducted on August 7, 2016.

UPSC Civil Services examination is conducted in two stages- Prelims and Mains, for approximately 1079 posts of administrative positions, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services (Group A and Group B).
Candidates who have qualified the preliminary exam can fill application form of UPSC Civil Services 2016 mains exam from October 7. The last to date fill the application form is October 20, 2016.
After conducting the UPSC Mains, candidates will again be shortlisted on the basis of their aggregate qualifying marks, and will later be called for interview rounds; which is the last and final stage of the selection. The final selection for administrative positions will be made on the basis of the overall marks obtained in the main examination and the interview.
