UPPSC notification released; changes introduced for 2018
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has released notification for Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Provincial Civil Services (P.C.S) and Assistant Conservator of Forest (A.C.F.) / Range Forest Officer (R.F.O.) services examination. The exam authority has announced a total of 924 vacancies for the recruitment process. The application form for UPPSC is available from July 6 to August 6, 2018. The preliminary exam of UPPSC will be conducted on August 19, 2018. As per UPPSC officials, lot of changes have been introduced in the exam pattern for 2018.
This year, two papers (General Studies - III and IV) have been introduced in the scheme of mains examination. Earlier, there were only two General Studies papers in the mains examination. Candidates have to select any one subject from the list of optional subjects in mains exam. Last year, candidates had to select any two subjects from the list of optional subjects.
Earlier, General Studies Paper I and II were objective type while this year, all papers of mains exam will be conventional type. Candidates will get three hours to complete the questions papers of compulsory and optional subjects.
Last year, time allotted for General Studies paper I and II was two hours. For other compulsory and optional papers, three hours time was allotted. Medical Sciences has been added to the list of optional subjects this year.
The recruitment exam is conducted in three stages – Preliminary, Mains and Interview. Graduate candidates between 21 to 40 years are eligible to apply. Out of the total 924 vacancies, 831 are for Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services under general recruitment and 1 for Physically Handicapped. There are 16 vacancies for the post of Assistant Conservator of Forest and 76 vacancies for the post of Range Forest Officer.
