New Delhi, July 2018: SBI PO Preliminary exam 2018 has begun today, on July 1. State Bank of India (SBI) is conducting the exam in online mode on July 1, 7 and 8. SBI PO prelims exam is being conducted across 213 exam centre cities in 34 states and UTs, while the mains exam will be held across exam centres in 65 cities. SBI is conducting the PO prelims exam in 4 slots on all 3 days.
Each slot is being conducted for 1 hour. In the prelims paper, candidates have to answer questions from English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning carry a weightage of 35 marks each against a total of 35 marks, while the English Language section carries a weightage of 30 questions for 30 marks. It must be noted that there is specific time allotted to cabdidates to complete each section. Candidates have to complete each of the three sections in 20 mins.
SBI PO 2018 prelims exam is first of the three phases which will be followed by SBI PO mains and group exercises and interview.
Candidates qualifying SBI PO prelims exam will be eligible to appear for the mains exam and further the candidates who qualify the mains exam will have to appear in group discussions and personal interview.
Candidates who qualify SBI PO will go through a 2 year training programme (probation period) after which the they will undergo a screening process. Candidates who clear this screening procedure will be given placement in the next higher grade at the post of Officer Middle Management Grade Scale II. The candidates who do not succeed in the screening process but have cleared the exam will be placed as Officer Junior Management Grade Scale I.
As per the notification of SBI PO 2018, 2118 vacancies have been released, out of which 118 vacancies are for PwD category.
