Application form for CDS-II 2014 exam, which is set to be held October 26, is available online from July 19. Last date of filling up of the CDS-II application form is August 18, Union Public Service Commission said.

UPSC will conduct the Combined Defence Services Examination (II) for Graduation pass and appearing candidates to fill around 464 CDS vacancies including 200 for Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, 45 for Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, 32 for Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, 175 for Officers Training Academy, Chennai (for men), and 12 for Officers Training Academy, Chennai (for women).

The candidates are required to pay Rs 200 to fill CDS II 2014 application form. The fees can be paid either via Bank Challan or online using net banking facility of State Bank of India or its associated banks or via SBI debit/credit card.

 

As per the CDS II 2014 Eligibility Criteria, the candidates applying for admission in the Defence job courses should be the citizen of India, and are appearing or have qualified graduation level exam. The candidates must be unmarried and male, and should have born between July 2, 1991 and July 1, 1996.

 

According to CDS II 2014 Paper Pattern for admission to Military, Naval and Air Force Academy, the candidates are evaluated in English, General Knowledge (GK) and Elementary Mathematics, each paper of 2 hours duration and 100 marks each. For admission to Officers Training Academy the candidates are tested in a similar manner as explained above except that they are exempted from taking Elementary Mathematics test.

 

Under the CDS II 2014 Selection Process, the UPSC prepares a list of candidates who get the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination. Based on their preference, the candidates are called for intelligence and personality test (including psychological aptitude) by the respective SSB. Based on the performance at the SSB, final selection is made in order of merit, subject to medical fitness and suitability.

 

CDS II 2014 Important Dates have been announced by UPSC in its notification. CDS II 2014 Admit Card will be available tentatively in first week of October. CDS II 2014 Result will be declared tentatively in third week of December.

 

Courses in Military, Naval and Air Force Academy will commence in July 2015 and courses in Officers Training Academy will start in October 2015.

do girls get officers rank through OTA in CDS.

Hello,

Through CDS exam, both men and women cadets are recruited for the rank of Officer only.

But women candidates get Short Service Commission after clearing the exam, SSB and Medicals.

You can only apply for OTA as females are allowed to appear for this exam only,its eligibility is graduation in any discipline from a recognized University and age limit is 19 to 25 years.

In CDS, for IMA and INA a degree of a recognized university or equivalent is required. Also your age should be within 24 years. Thus makes you eligible.
For Air Force Academy, degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering is required.
For Officer's Training Academy-Men, a degree of a recognized University or equivalent is required. Also age must be within 25 years.

Hello,

Through CDS female are eligible to eligible for Officer's Training Academy (OTA) only.Women candidates are not eligible for AFA, INA and IMA through CDS.However, if you wish you join in Indian Air Force in Flying Branch the you must appear in AFCAT.The eligibility criteria is that a candidate must have passed three years graduation in any discipline with atleast 60% aggregate or 4 year B.E/B.tech with atleast 60% aggregate from a recognized board or university.Must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics with atleast 60% aggregate.Age limit is 20-24 years.Candidates in final year are also eligible to apply but they must fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Hi Aayush,

As per the latest eligibility criteria of CDS 2020, the candidates between 20 to 24 years are eligible to give this exam.

You are 21 now and you are going to be of 24 years on 11 July 2023 so you are eligible for the respective exam in each and every course ranging from IMA to OTA.

You have total 4 attempts remaining.
