CBSE conducts UGC NET 2018 on July 8
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting UGC NET 2018 today, on July 8 in offline mode. CBSE UGC NET 2018 is being held for 84 subjects in 91 cities, across 36 States and UTs. The exam is being conducted for two papers – Paper I and II in two sessions. Paper I is being held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, while Paper II is being conducted from 11 am to 1 pm. Around 9.30 lakhs candidates are expected to appear in UGC NET 2018.
This year, the exam authority has made some changes in the exam pattern of UGC NET. Instead of 3 papers, there will be only 2 papers – paper 1 and paper 2. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. The language of the question paper is English and Hindi. Each question will carry 2 marks.
All questions in UGC NET 2018 in both paper I and II are compulsory. Paper I contains 50 questions carrying 100 marks. The duration of the same is one hour (9:30 am to 10:30 am).
Paper 2 will be of 100 marks and will contain 100 objective type compulsory questions. Each question will carry 2 marks and will be based on the subject opted by the candidate. The duration of the same is two hours (11 am to 1 pm).
Candidates are required to carry their UGC NET 2018 admit card as well as a photo identity card to the examination centre in original.
Various coaching centres will release the answer key of UGC NET 2018 after the conclusion of the exam. Candidates can check their answers to the questions asked in the exam and calculate their probable scores. The official UGC NET answer key is expected to be released in August 2018.
UGC NET result 2018 is expected to be released in the month of September. The result of UGC NET 2018 will include the scorecard of the candidate including candidate’s name, roll number, subject, marks obtained in the exam, maximum marks, percentage of marks and remark. Merit list of UGC NET will be published along with UGC NET result 2018 including roll numbers of qualified candidates for the eligibility of Assistant Professor and awarding Junior Research Fellowship.
Along with the result, subject wise and category wise UGC NET Cut Off for Assistant Professor and JRF will be released by the exam conducting body.

Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.

To attempt UGC NET, you must have qualified any masters /post graduate degree from ugc recognized university and you must have minimum 50% in same as per eligibility criteria. Yes, you are eligible for the UGC NET exam because to apply for the exam candidates must have masters’ degree from the approved and recognized universities and IGNOU is a UGC approved University as per the latest eligibility criteria which is described as below :-
- Open category/Unreserved category candidates need to have secured a minimum of 55% marks in Masters or equivalent.
- OBC/ST/SC/PWD/Transgender candidates should have scored at least 50% marks in Masters or equivalent exam.
- Candidates in their final year of master’s degree can also take the UGC NET 2020 exam, however, such candidates have to complete their degree with required NET qualification marks within 2 years.
- As per the eligibility criteria of UGC NET Ph.D. degree holders with their master’s completed by September 19, 1992 can avail relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks. This means that such candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in masters.
- Candidates with post-graduate diploma/certificate by Indian University/Institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate by the foreign University/Institute have to ensure that their diploma/degree/certificate is equivalent to master’s degree recognized by Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), NewDelhi.
To apply for JRF your age must not exceed 30 years or if you are from SC/ST/PWD/OBC candidate then you will get 5 years age relaxation but for assistant professor no age criteria is applicable.

Hello, I have passed ugc net and csc set both exm in 2019 by using ews certificate, In west bengal ews certificates validation is one year, so my question is that if I do not renewed my certificate then my net set certificate will be cancelled or not?
For the award of Junior Research Fellowship, the UGC NET certificate remains valid for 3 years from the date of issue and for lectureship, it is vaild for lifetime.
