About SSB Group B and C 2023
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) invites applications for filling up Group B and C posts like Sub-Inspector, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Head Constable, etc. Around 200 vacancies are announced in each cycle of the SSB Group B and C recruitment exam. The selection of candidates is done on the basis of Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Documentation, Written Examination, and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). The final selection list will be prepared after completion of the medical examination. Candidates are selected for different posts on the basis of their rank in the merit list.

SSB Group B and C Application Form
SSB Group B and C could be filled online only in three parts. The detailed application procedure is explained below.

After filling the details, candidates can proceed further by clicking the ‘Proceed’ button. Candidates can preview SSB Group B and C application form and make changes if any before final submission.
Part II: Uploading of signature and photograph
Candidates had to upload their photograph and signature in JPG format. The prescribed size of the photograph was less than 12 kb and greater than 4 kb.
After uploading of photograph and signature, the candidates' registration number is generated. Applicants can take a printout of the acknowledgment page.
Part III: The last stage of filling of application form was paying the requisite examination fees.
Structure of Application Fees
Mode: Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card of any bank/ challan of State Bank of India. SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/ Women candidates are exempted from paying the fee.

SSB Group B and C Exam Pattern
The written examination comprises two papers – I and II. The Paper I will be held for 2 hours. The paper will carry 100 multiple choice objective type questions from General Knowledge, Numerical Ability, Quantitative aptitude, General English / General Hindi and General Reasoning. Maximum marks allotted for the exam is 100 marks. This paper is qualifying in nature. The Paper-II for the posts of SI(Staff Nurse Female), ASIs(Pharmacist, Operation Theatre Technician, Dental Technician & Radiographer) is a Technical written examination. The paper will carry 100 objective type questions. According to SSB Group B and C exam pattern, paper II for ASI (Steno) and Head Constable (Ministerial) is a descriptive test of 2 hours. The test will carry essay writing, precis writing, letter writing, comprehension. The paper II is conducted to test candidates writing capability.

The admit card of SSB Group B and C will be released separately for PET, PST & Documentation, written exam, and detailed medical examination. First, SSB Group B and C admit card for PET, PST, and documentation will be issued to all registered candidates. Candidates qualifying the PET, PST, and documentation will release SSB Group B and C admit card for the written exam. Separate admit cards will be issued for Detailed Medical Examination to candidates qualifying the written exam. SSB Group B and C admit card will be released online for all stages. Candidates will have to enter login credentials to download the admit card. The admit card will contain details like candidates name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam date, time and exam centre.

SSB Group B and C 2023 Answer Key
SB Group B and C Answer Key
The answer key of SSB Group B and C will be released two days after the exam. Along with the answer key, the examination authority will also release the question papers. Candidates can use the answer key to check correct answers of the questions asked in the written exam. Based on the number of correct and incorrect answers, candidates can calculate their probable score as well as analyse their performance in the exam. The facility to raise objection against the answers in SSB Group B and C answer key will be available for candidates within 7 days from the date of release of answer key. The objection submitted by candidates will be reviewed by the experts if there are any changes, the examination authority will release the revised answer key. To register the objection, candidates will have to pay Rs 100 per question.

The result of Group B and C will be declared separately for PET, PST & Documentation, written exam and final result. The examination authority will first declare SSB Group B and C results for PET, PST & Documentation. Candidates qualifying this stage as per the result will have to appear in the written test. On the basis of SSB Group B and C results of the written exam, candidates will be called for a detailed medical examination. The final result will be declared based on candidates' performance in all the stages of selection. SSB Group B and C results will be available online. The result will be available either in PDF format or candidates will have to log in with their credentials to check the result.
SSB Group B and C 2023 Cutoff
SSB Group B and C Cutoff
The cutoff of SSB Group B and C is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates will have to score to qualify the exam. There are two types of SSB Group B and C cutoffs – qualifying and overall. Candidates will have to secure the qualifying cutoff to qualify the exam. However, candidates will be selected for the various posts based on the overall cutoff. The qualifying SSB Group B and C cutoff has been announced by the examination authority. The qualifying marks for written exam of SSB Group B and C is 50 % for general and OBC including Ex-Servicemen while it is 45 % for SC and ST including Ex-Servicemen. The overall cutoff will be determined based on the number of vacancies after completion of recruitment process.

SSB Group B and C Selection Process
The stages of SSB Group B and C are explained below.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – All candidates who have applied for the exam will have to undergo PET. This stage is qualifying in nature and candidates have to qualify to be eligible for the next round of selection process.
Physical Standard Test (PST) – Candidates qualifying the PET will have to appear for PST. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET.
Documentation – Candidates who qualify the Physical Standard Test (PST) have to go through the documentation. Here, candidates will have to produce original documents/certificates.
Written Examination – Candidates qualifying documentation will appear in the written examination. Final merit list for this posts will be prepared based on candidate’s performance in Paper II. Paper-II of only those candidates will be evaluated who secures qualifying marks in Paper I. Candidates for the post of ASI (Steno) and HC (Min) who will qualify Paper I and II will be called for skill test. This test is qualifying in nature.
Detailed Medical Examination (DME) – Candidates on the basis of their marks in written examination will be called for Detailed Medical Examination.
Final Selection – The final selection of candidates will be prepared in the order of merit, category after the medical examination is over. In case of a tie, the examination authority will adopt a tie-breaking policy to declare the final merit list.
