Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct NDA 2020 exam to select candidates for admission at NDA/NA (Nation Defence Academy/Naval Academy. NDA exam is usually conducted twice a year, in April (NDA/NA I), and in September (NDA/NA II). Class 12th passed candidates or appearing candidates between 16.5 to 19.5 years of age can apply for NDA exam. Through NDA/NA I and NDA/NA II, the authorities seeks to fill up officer level vacancies in Army, Navy and Air Force. Naval Academy vacancies are also filled up through NDA/NA exam. The selection process of NDA exam comprises two stages – written and Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview.
The written exam of NDA 2020 will be conducted for two papers - Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). The duration of each test is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Maximum marks allotted to the written exam is 900.
After the written exam of NDA/NA, a 5 days rigorous test/SSB interview is conducted in order to choose the best candidate. During these 5 days, the candidates are tested on various grounds including their speed, intelligence, presence of mind, psychological and physical fitness.

The eligibility criteria of NDA has been determined by the examination authorities on the grounds of age, educational qualification, physical measurements, To apply for the NDA 2020, candidate must meet the eligibility criteria determined by UPSC. 1. A Citizen of India
2. A subject of Nepal
3. A subject of Bhutan
4. A Tibetan refugee who moved to India, before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling here permanently
5. A Person of Indian origin who has migrated from the below-specified countries, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia
The age of candidates applying for NDA must be between 16.5 and 19.5 (Candidates born not earlier than January 2, 2001, and no later than January 1, 2005)
For Army wing, candidates must have passed Class 12/HSC
For Air Force and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme of Indian Naval Academy, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics
For Army, Navy and Naval Academy - 157 cm (minimum)
For Air Force - 162.5 cm (minimum)

UPSC has released the application form of NDA on January 8, 2020, in online mode at its official website. The last date to fill the application form is January 28, 2020. Eligible candidates will be able to fill the NDA application form in two parts – I and II. In part I, candidates have to register for the exam by filling the basic information, selecting the preferred branches, and verifying the details. In part II, applicants have to pay the examination fees, select examination centre, and upload photograph and signature. Candidates can withdraw their NDA application form 2020 from February 04 to 11, 2020. Along with filling the application form, candidates must also pay the application fee in online mode. The application fee for general category candidates is Rs. 100 while SC/ST candidates, sons of JCOs, NCOs and ORs are exempted from paying the application fee.

The exam authorities also provide the facility to withdraw the application form for those who fill the application form and later change their mind to not take the NDA 2020 exam. Candidates must note that on withdrawal of the application form, the fee paid by them will not be refunded in any case.
Preparation is the key to success. Thus, on must plan and strategies their preparation to crack NDA exam. The foremost thing that a candidates are concerned about while NDA exam preparation is what they must study. For this, they must get acquainted with the syllabus and the exam pattern. The points below contains some of the tips and tricks that a candidates can follow to prepare for their exam well.
1. Know the exam pattern and syllabus - Candidates must know exactly what they need to study and what will be the pattern. This will help candidates know the number of papers they have to appear for, marking scheme etc.
2. Study from the best books - Candidate must choose those books which covers all the syllabus of the exam
3. Prepare and maintain a study schedule - By preparing and maintaining a study plan, candidates will be able to pay an equal time and attention to both the papers, their topics and sub-topics, provided they have allotted sufficient time slot for studying each topic.
4. Solve previous years question papers and mock tests - Candidates can refer to the previous years question papers to boost their confidence and enhance their problem-solving skills. Along with studying for the exam and solving the previous years question papers, candidates must also take mock test regularly to experience the exam like environment where there will be a time constrains.
The exam pattern contains the stages of exam, sections, mode of exam, duration, marking scheme etc. Candidates must go through the exam pattern of NDA before they start off with their preparations. As per NDA exam pattern, the test is conducted in the online mode. The test is held for two papers - paper I (Mathematics) and paper II [General Ability Test (GAT)]. The time given for each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
In Mathematics, there will be a total of 120 questions while in GAT, there will be a total of 150 questions. The written exam of NDA (Maths and GAT) will be conducted for a total of 900 marks. Candidates qualifying in the written exam will have to appear for the SSB interview round. The SSB Interview will be conducted for a total of 900 marks and will be conducted in a five days process.

As per NDA exam pattern, the paper I is for Mathematics. In this section, a total of 120 questions are asked. The total marks for which Mathematics is conducted is 300. For each wrong answer given by the candidates, 1/3 marks are deducted. Candidate are given 2 hours 30 minutes to complete paper I of NDA exam.

The paper 2 of NDA written exam is General Ability Test (GAT). Candidates are asked a total of 150 questions of 600 marks. Candidates are given 2.5 hours to complete the exam. As per the marking scheme, 1/3 marks are deducted for each wrong response given by the candidates. There are two parts in GAT - Part A (English) and Part B (General Knowledge). UPSC will release the admit card of NDA 2020 in online mode on its official website 3 weeks prior to the date of examination. Candidates will be able to download NDA 2020 admit card by using either their registration number or roll number. NDA admit card will contain details like candidate’s name, the address of allotted exam centre, date, time of the exam, roll number, category, photograph, signature etc. Candidates must carry their admit card to their respective exam centres on the day of the exam along with 2 passport size photographs, and one of the prescribed photo ID proofs - Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport.

Candidates must ensure that all the details mentioned on the admit card are correct. In case of discrepancy in the admit card, candidates must imminently contact the examination authorities and get it rectified. To contact the authorities, candidates can send an email at email@example.com and a copy of their NDA admit card along with application form or can even go in person to the facilitation centre or call up at 011-23385271/ 23381125/ 23098543 (on working days between 10 am to 5 pm).

Along with the NDA admit card, candidates must carry the following items to the exam centre on the exam day:

It must be remembered by the candidates that they will not be allowed to take test without the admit card of NDA.
The official answer key of NDA is released only after the recruitment process is over. The NDA answer key contains the correct answer options for all sets of question papers sets (A, B, C, D) of GAT and Mathematics papers. However, the unofficial answer key of NDA are released by the leading coaching institutes within few hours from the conclusion of the examination. By going through the answer key of NDA, candidates can know the number of correct and incorrect answers given and them and thus calculate their expected scores.

NDA Exam Analysis: Exam analysis of NDA includes section wise difficulty of the exam and paper 1 & paper 2 and over all difficulty level of the exam. Along with this what could be the expected cut off of the exam should also need to be include in this section.
The examination authorities announce the result of NDA written exam if PDF at its official website The NDA 2020 result PDF will contain the roll numbers and names of qualified candidates. All those candidates who will be considered qualified in the NDA written exam will have to appear for the SSB Interview for Intelligence and Personality Test. After the SSB Interview, the examination authority will prepare the final merit list. NDA final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks secured by the candidates written exam and SSB Interview. Final admission will be offered to candidates based on their rank in the merit list.

Scorecard - Within 15 days from the date of NDA result announcement, the authorities will release the score card which will be available on the authorities website for 30 days. The scorecard of NDA will contains details like candidate’s name, roll number, sectional and overall scores.
NDA Cut off
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases cutoff marks written and final marks. Candidates should noted the point that commission releases official NDA cut off after the declration of result. The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks obtained by the candidates. Candidates have to score the overall as well as the sectional cutoff to be eligible for the next stage of the exam which will be fixed by UPSC.

NDA Selection Process: The Selection process of NDA involves two stages written exam followed by the interview process. On the basis of the marks secured in written exam candidates will be called for the next stage of selection process NDA selection process takes place for Army, Air force and Navy.
The notification of NDA/NA (II) 2020 exam will be released by UPSC on their official website, mostly on 10th June,2020.
The submission of applications can be done upto 30th June,2020 and the final exam is scheduled to be conducted on 6th September,2020.

In the NDA Test there are two test papers that are there. Paper 1 of Mathematics and part 2 of GAT Which consist of physics, chemistry, general science, history geography etc. So if you don't do coaching of mathematics and physics which are the most weightage subjects then you cannot clear NDA.
