What is CTET?
Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the CTET 2023 exam in online mode. CTET is a national-level Central Teacher Eligibility Test. CBSE holds the CTET exam in two shifts wherein candidates have the option to appear in paper 1 or paper 2 or both the papers. CBSE conducts two papers – Paper – I for the primary stage (class- I to V) and Paper – II for the elementary stage (class- VI to VIII).
Each of the two papers has 150 questions for 150 marks. The CTET examination is conducted with an aim to assess less factual knowledge of the candidate and more of conceptual understanding, application, problem-solving, reasoning, and critical thinking.
The questions asked in the CTET exam focus on evaluating the candidates' understanding of teaching the subject, whether the candidate has pedagogic content knowledge. The other aspect that will be taken into account to evaluate the candidate is the knowledge relevance of the subject in the school curriculum as well as other aspects of teaching the subject such as pedagogic content knowledge which will comprise questions assessing planning of teaching-learning experiences, strategies for developing conceptual clarity, usage of teaching-learning aids, and assessment methodologies specific to the concept.
Candidates who qualify for the CTET exam will be given TET Eligibility Certificate and they will be eligible to apply in schools under the Central Government, unaided private schools, and schools under the administrative control of Union Territories.
What is the Full Form of CTET?
Central Board of Secondary Education has mentioned on the official website that the full form of the CTET exam is Central Teacher Eligibility Test. The objective of conducting the CTET 2023 exam is to recruit teachers for vacant positions in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalaya and Army schools as well as in other government or private schools. The candidate who clears the CTET exam will be given an eligibility certificate that has lifelong validity.
CTET 2023 exam - Highlights
The CBSE has notified us that the validity of the certificate of the CTET exam will be now for a lifetime. Previously it was five years and later increased to seven years. However, it will now be for a lifetime. Keeping in alliance with the New Education Policy (NEP), the candidates will have to appear in the CTET 2023 exam in online mode.
The main aim of holding the CTET examination in online mode is to motivate futuristic teachers to become computer literate. Also by conducting the CTET exam 2023 in online mode, a huge amount of paper wastage will be saved as the CTET question papers and OMR sheets would not be printed.

Questions related to CTET
Is CTET a requirement for TGT?
One of the most fundamental criteria for candidates for TGT positions is passing the Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET). For Trained Graduate Teachers to be able to apply for various recruitment tests, they must pass the CTET or another State TET.
Without CTET, can I become a teacher?
There is a myth that candidates cannot apply for any government teaching positions without a CTET certificate. But it needs to be more accurate. There are numerous teaching positions for which CTET is not required. These positions are open to applicants without a CTET certificate.
Can I apply for PGT with or without a CTET?
CTET isn't necessary for the PGT Post. For PRTs and TGTs, the Central Teachers Eligibility Test is taken. Postgraduate candidates, in contrast to TGTs and PRTs, are not required to take the CTET Exam in order to be eligible for the recruitment tests.
i have done B com , b.ed and cleared CTET paper2 in Maths and science.Am I eligible for THT SST?
Hello dear,
If you have done B com, B.ED and also cleared CTET paper 2 in maths and Science.
Congratulation! Then yes, you are eligible for TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher).
You merely need to decide whatever topic, such as Social Science (60 Marks) or Math and Science (30 + 30 Marks), you wish to write your CTET Paper 2 in order to maximise your preferences, interests, and future advantages.
graduating with at least 50% of the required grades, passing the last year of a two-year elementary education diploma programme, or enrolling in a one-year bachelor's degree programme in education (B.ED). OR a Bachelor of Education (B.ED) degree with at least 45% of the required marks, as determined by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, which are periodically issued in this regard.
I hope you pick a good option for you.
All the very best.
I have qualified UPTET and CTET paper 2 that is upper primary level, am I eligible for super TET examination? I have read at many places that paper 1(primary)should be qualified for supertet, please clear my doubt.
Hi,
Candidates applying for the Super TET 2022 must have graduated and got at least 50% marks in all their studies . Candidates must have obtained a bachelor's degree in primary/ elementary education (B. Ed) or hold a degree in this field.
If you have completed your B. Ed. Degree and qualified both Uptet and ctet of paper 2, you are therefore, eligible for super tet examination also.
But to be on a safer side, you can also go for paper 1 as it would increase your chances for a secured government job if the vacancies are up for any programme.
Regards.
