Canara Bank conducts Canara Bank PO recruitment for admission to one-year training course leading to Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF) after which candidates are appointed as Probationary Officers in branches of the bank. The aspirants can fill its application form in online mode on Canara Bank's official website. Before applying for the Canara Bank PO recruitment candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria. Registered candidates have to appear in an online test. The exam comprises 200 objective type questions carrying 200 marks. Selected candidates are then called for Group Discussion and Interview based on the 1:3 ratio (for each post 3 candidates) depending upon the vacancies. Canara Bank PO Eligibility Criteria - Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India or
Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia & Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belonging to categories above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Candidates must produce a necessary certificate of their eligibility at the time of appointment as a Probationary Officer.

Applicants should upload their recent passport size photograph, clicked against a light-coloured, (preferably white) background
Size of file should be between 20 kb–50 kb
Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)
If the picture is taken on a sunny day, the sun should be behind the applicant, or he/she should get clicked in the shade so that they are not squinting and there are no harsh shadow
If flash has to be used while clicking the pictures, ensure there is no ‘red-eye’
If the applicants wear glasses he/she should ensure that there is no reflection and his/her eyes are clearly visible
Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover the face of the applicant

The signature must be done by the applicant and not by any other person
The applicant’s signature obtained on the admission letter and attendance sheet at the time of the examination should match with the uploaded signature.
In case of a mismatch, the candidate may be disqualified

The result of Canara Bank PO is declared for Online Test and Interview round separately. Candidates have to download their result of Canara Bank PO in online mode. Candidates have to score the minimum cut-off marks for each subject as well as a total score to get selected for the next stage of the recruitment process. In order to qualify Canara Bank PO online test, candidates have to obtain a minimum score in each subject and also a minimum total score as decided by Bank to be considered for Group Discussion and Interview. The final merit list for selection is released on the basis of performance in Online Test, Group Discussion and Interview. If two or more candidates have obtained the same score, merit order is decided as per date of birth (the candidate senior in age is placed before/above the candidate junior in age). The weightage for online test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview are in the ratio of 50:20:30.

Canara Bank selects candidates through a selection process consisting of an online test followed by Interview/ Group Discussion (GD).
Online Test: There are 200 objective type questions. Candidates have to obtain more than or equal to the minimum qualifying cut off marks in each subject to be eligible for the GD/PI.
Interview/Group Discussion – Candidates who qualified in the objective test are selected for the PI/GD on the basis of the merit list prepared by the authority in the order of ranks obtained in the Canara Bank PO online test and cut-off marks. The cutoff marks are decided by Canara Bank on the basis of the number of candidates appearing for the exam, the number of vacancies, etc. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the performance in the online test and Interview/GD. The minimum qualifying marks in Group Discussion and Personal Interview must be equal to or more than 40% for General Candidates and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates.

- Caste Certificate issued by competent authority, strictly in the prescribed format, in case of SC/ST/OBC category candidates & Disability Certificate, in case of PWBD candidates
- An Ex-serviceman candidate has to produce a copy of the Service or Discharge Book along with pension payment order and documentary proof of rank last / presently held (substantive as well as acting) at the time of interview
- Persons eligible for age relaxation under “Persons ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989” must produce the domicile certificate
