UPSC ESE 2020 – Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification of Engineering Service Examination (ESE) on September 25, 2019. Along with releasing the notification, the authority has also activated the link to fill the UPSC ESE application form 2020. Candidates can apply online for UPSC ESE 2020 up to October 15 at upsc.gov.in. It is to be noted that applications can be withdrawn from October 22 to 28 till 6.00 PM after which the link will be disabled. Candidates who fill the application form UPSC ESE 2020 successfully will only be issued the admit card of exam. Commission will release the admit card before a month of the exam in online mode. The prelims phase exam of UPSC ESE will be conducted on January 5, 2020. Candidates who will qualify the prelims stage will further have to appear for mains and interview stage of UPSC ESE exam.Based on Mains and Interview, UPSC will release the final merit list of shortlisted candidates. Selected candidates will be recruited to the Group A/B services in Indian Railway, Indian Ordnance Factories, Central Water Engineering Service, Indian Skill Development Service etc. Recruitment is made to the services/posts under Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication engineering categories. The application form of UPSC ESE 2020 is released along with the notification on September 25, 2019. Candidates can fill the application form till October 15, 2019. The application form of UPSC ESE can be filled through online mode only. The application fee is Rs. 200 for General and OBC whereas candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH and female were exempted from paying the fee. The application fee of UPSC ESE 2020 can be filled through both online and offline mode.

Applicants who opt for "Pay by cash" mode should print the system generated Pay‐in slip during Part‐ II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only.
Pay by cash" mode option will be deactivated on October 14 at 11.59 PM, one day before the closing date of UPSC ESE application form 2020. However, applicants who have generated their Pay‐in‐slip before it is deactivated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date.
Commission prescribes the eligibility criteria of UPSC ESE 2020 in official notification only. UPSC ESE eligibility criteria 2020 includes nationality, age limit, educational qualification, medical examination and physical standards. To be eligible for UPSC ESE 2020 candidates need to fulfill the following criteria.

Medical Examination- Candidate who qualify the prelims and mains exam have to undergo a medical examination. Candidate must be fit to qualify the medical exam.
Physical Standards - According to UPSC ESE 2020 physical standards, a candidate must be physically fit.
UPSC ESE 2020 exam will be conducted in three stages – prelims, mains and interview. Prelims exam comprises two papers – Paper I and II. Paper I will be conducted for 200 marks and the time allotted to the candidates will be 120 minutes. Paper II will be of 300 marks and time allotted to the candidate will be 180 minutes. UPSC ESE 2020 mains exam consists of two papers – Paper I and Paper II. Both the papers are of 300 marks each. The time allotted to attempt the exam for the candidate is 180 minutes for each paper. The last stage of UPSC ESE exam is interview, which is a personality test. The interview will be of 200 marks. The exam pattern of UPSC ESE 2020 for prelims and mains is listed below

Candidates who fill the application form of UPSC ESE exam will only be issued the admit card. UPSC ESE 2020 admit card for prelims exam will be issued before a month of exam. Since UPSC ESE 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on January 5, 2020 hence we can expect that admit card will be issued in the first week of December. The admit card of UPSC ESE 2020 included information like name, registration number/roll number, the address of the examination centre and other essential details. While filling the application form of UPSC ESE 2020 candidates should know about the exam centres. Commission will be allot UPSC ESE exam centre to the candidates according to their preferences. UPSC ESE prelims 2020 will be conducted across 42 exam cities and mains in 24 exam cities in India. The exam centre cannot be changed once the application form is submitted. The answer key of UPSC ESE will contain all the correct answers asked in the examination. The answer key of UPSC ESE 2020 by coaching institutes will be available shortly after the conclusion of exam. Though final UPSC ESE answer key can only be downloaded after the final result will be released by the exam conducting authority. UPSC ESE Answer key 2020 can be downloaded online in pdf format. Candidates can not challenge the answer key of UPSC 2020 ESE exam.
UPSC will declare the stage wise result of UPSC ESE 2020 in online mode only. UPSC ESE 2020 result will be available in pdf format containing the roll numbers of all the qualified candidates. The final result of UPSC ESE will be calculated on the basis of prelims, mains and interview. After the declaration of final UPSC ESE Result 2020 authority will release the score card of the candidates.
The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks the candidate need to get selected for the next stage. UPSC ESE cut off 2020 is released after the declaration of final result. On the basis of UPSC ESE 2020 cut off candidates will be declared qualified for the various posts they applied for. It is to be noted that candidates should secure minimum qualifying cut off along with over all cut off to qualify the respective stage.
UPSC ESE 2020 recruitment process takes place in three stages – prelims, mains and interview. Candidates who qualify the prelims exam will be eligible to appear for mains. After qualifying the mains exam candidates will be further invited to interview process. Those who will qualify the interview stage will be recruited for UPSC ESE exam.
