UPSC Civil Services Mains 2015 Selection Process –  Civil Services 2015 Exam of UPSC is done in three stages – Preliminary, Mains and Interview. While the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2015, held on August 23, is just a screening test, UPSC Civil Services Mains is of evaluative nature and those who qualify in the Mains level will be called in for UPSC Civil Services Interview.

UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2015 Eligibility Criteria – Candidates who wish to apply for UPSC Civil Services Mains 2015 must have qualified the preliminary exam. Other eligibility criteria are same as specified for the prelims exam:

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India

  • They must be between the age of 21 and 32 years as on August 1, 2015

  • Candidate need to have a degree of any University or equivalent qualification

  • Any candidate who has not completed the six attempts at the Civil Services Examination, but has not crossed upper age limit

UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2015 Application Form – Qualifying candidates of preliminary exam can apply for UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2015 from October 29 to November 13, 2015. Candidates seeking admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination must apply to ‘Under Secretary (CSM), Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069’ in the prescribed application form after duly filling in information Online and thereafter.


Candidates have to submit the printed copy of the Online application to the Commission with remitting the prescribed fee. Candidates applying for UPSC Civil Services 2015 Mains Exam have to remit application fees of Rs. 200 (Rupees Two Hundred only) through Central Recruitment Fee (CRF) stamps.


UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2015 Admit Card – Union Public Service Commission will release UPSC Civil Services 2015 Admit Card for Main exam beginning in December, 2015 for the candidates who qualified in Preliminary exam. Candidates can download their UPSC Civil Services 2015 e-Admission Certificate by entering their Registration ID or Roll Number or Name. The call letter will be available in online mode only and it will not be sent by post or by any other mode of communication to the candidates.


UPSC Civil Services Mains 2015 Exam Pattern – The Mains exam will consist of written exam and personality test. The written exam will consist of:


Papers of qualifying nature:

  • Paper A – An Indian language selected by the candidates

  • Paper B – English

Papers to be counted for merit:

  • Essay (Paper I)

  • General Studies (Paper II-V)

  • Optional Subjects (Paper VI-VII)

UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2015 Result – The Union Public Service Commission has declared the final result of UPSC Civil Services 2015 on May 10, 2016 and released the UPSC Civil Services 2015 list of successful candidates, who qualified after the personality development test. The UPSC Civil Services 2015 Mains Result was announced on February 20, 2016. After the personality development test and interview, qualifying candidates are appointed by UPSC as Civil Servants.
