UPSC Civil Services 2014 Main Exam was held on December 14, 2014. After the personality development test, qualifying candidates will be appointed as Civil Servants.


UPSC in its notification also announced Exam Pattern and Selection Process and Important Dates for the competitive exam. 


UPSC conducted preliminary exam for UPSC Civil Services 2014 on August 24 to fill up around 1,291 vacancies in civil services including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services (Group A and Group B). Prelims result was declared on on October 14, 2014.


Candidates, who qualify Prelims round, are being called for the Main Exam. Mains round includes written exam and personality test. Qualifying candidates in Mains round will be appointed as Civil Servants.


The exam this year has been conducted for total of 1291 vacancies. Out of the total vacancies, 26 vacancies are reserved for Physically Handicapped Category. The 26 reserved seats are further divided for 12 vacancies for LDCP, 2 Vacancies for B/LV and 12 Vacancies for HI.
