Hello,

If your college name is not listed in the CTET 2024 form but is shown on the Examination Regulatory Authority site and not on the NCTE site, you can choose the "OTHERS" option in the form.

However, it's important to confirm whether your college is recognized by NCTE, as CTET eligibility requires recognition from NCTE-approved institutions.

After selecting "OTHERS," you may need to provide additional details or clarification in the form. To be certain, it’s a good idea to contact CTET support or your college administration to clarify the eligibility before proceeding.

Hello LAxmi,

B.Com and B.Ed qualifications typically do not make you eligible to teach Science and Mathematics at the secondary level (TGT level) for government schools. Here's why:

  1. Subject Qualification for TGT (Maths): To become a TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) in Mathematics, most government schools require candidates to have a relevant subject in their graduation, such as a B.Sc. with Mathematics.

  2. CTET Paper 2 Eligibility: While you can choose to appear for the CTET Paper 2 with Science/Maths, your B.Com degree might not be considered sufficient for a TGT Mathematics position because it doesn't involve in-depth study of Mathematics or Science subjects.

  3. Eligibility for TGT Mathematics: To be eligible for a TGT Mathematics position, you generally need:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
    • A B.Ed. with Mathematics as a teaching subject.

Since your background is in B.Com and B.Ed., you may not meet the subject-specific requirements to be considered for a TGT Mathematics role in government schools.

Next Steps: If you are passionate about teaching Mathematics at the TGT level, you might consider pursuing an additional qualification, such as a B.Sc. in Mathematics or a related field, to meet the eligibility criteria.

Hope it helps !

  • TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) eligibility criteria for social science can vary slightly depending on the state and the specific recruitment body.

  • While some states might require a specific combination of subjects like History (His), Geography (Geo), and Civics, others might have a broader social science eligibility.

Refer to the official notification or advertisement for the specific TGT recruitment process you're interested in. This notification will outline the detailed eligibility criteria, including the required subject combination for social science teachers.

Refer to the official notification or advertisement for the specific TGT recruitment process you are interested in. This notification will outline the detailed eligibility criteria, including the required subject combination for social science teachers.

If the official notification isn't clear or you are unsure about your eligibility, reach out to the recruitment board or department responsible for TGT recruitment in your state. They can clarify the specific subject combination requirements for social science teachers.

    I hope it helps!
