SSC Stenographer Selection Process 2019 - Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has prescribed the selection process of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Non-Gazetted posts. As per SSC Stenographer 2019 Selection Process, there are two stages for selection. Candidates have to appear for computer-based test and skill test to qualify SSC Stenographer 2019 exam. The first stage of SSC Stenographer Selection process 2019 consists of computer-based test conducted for 120 minutes.
The stage two of selection process involves skill test which is qualifying in nature. SSC, the exam conducting authority will fix qualifying standards for different categories. Candidates who qualify both the stages of SSC Stenographer Selection Process 2019 will be eligible for the recruitment to the post of Stenographer in Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ in various Ministries/Departments/Organizations.
The selection process of SSC Stenographer is done in two stages:
In the first stage of SSC Stenographer 2019 Selection Process, candidates must appear for computer-based test. CBT comprises 3 parts - General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language and Comprehension. All the questions are objective type multiple choice. There are 50 questions asked from each section like General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness whereas English Language and Comprehension section contains 100 questions.
The total marks allotted to CBT are 200 which is conducted for 2 hours. Candidates who qualify stage one of SSC Stenographer Selection Process 2019 become eligible to appear for stage 2 skill test. SSC releases category wise cutoff for computer-based exam. To calculate the marks of stage one CBT, SSC may adopt the normalization process as the exam is held for multiple days and sessions.
The second stage of SSC Stenographer Selection process is skill test. The skill test is held at SSC Regional/Sub Regional Offices or at other centres. The skill test is qualifying in nature where SSC will fix qualifying standards for different categories. For Stenographer Grade C post, candidates are given a dictation for 10 minutes in English/Hindi at the speed of 100 words per minute and 80 words per minute for Stenographer Grade D post. The selection of the candidates in skill test is done on the basis of number of their mistakes. Candidates selected in the skill test are called for document verification.
Candidates qualifying the computer-based test and skill test are called for document verification. The document verification involves the verification of original documents and submission of photocopies of documents like Matriculation Certificate, educational qualification, caste certificate, relevant document if any relaxation taken etc. Candidates who fail to do so are not considered for any post at the time of final selection.
