SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2019 - Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released exam pattern of Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL). Candidates can get the idea about the number of sections, marking scheme, weightage of topics, mode and duration of exam and number of questions through SSC CGL exam pattern 2019. SSC CGL 2019 exam is divided into 4 tiers - tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 and tier 4. 

The Tier I, as per SSC CGL 2019 comprises of Computer Based Test which has four sections - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. The questions in the booklet will carry 100 objective type multiple choice questions carrying 200 marks. Candidates will get 60 minutes to answer all the questions. Note: SSC CGL 2018 Tier I exam will be held from June 4 to 19, 2019, while the Tier II exam would be conducted from September 11 to 13, 2019. SSC CGL Tier III 2018 exam will be conducted on December 29, 2019. It must be noted that the exam pattern of SSC CGL for 2018 and 2019 is the same. So, candidates can follow this SSC CGL exam pattern 2019 for the exams of 2018 (which are happening in 2019) as well.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2019 for Tier I

The tier 1 exam is a computer-based test consisting of four subjects - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. There will be a total 100 questions where candidates will be given 60 minutes to answer. There is negative marking scheme of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer. SSC CGL Exam Pattern for Tier 2

The tier 2 exam comprises of four papers – Paper I, II, III, IV. Paper I is quantitative abilities while Paper II is the English Language. Paper III comprises questions from the subject of Statistics while Paper IV contains questions related to General Studies. SSC CGL 2019 Paper I and II of Tier II is common for all the posts. Candidates appearing for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will have to appear for Paper III and IV respectively. Questions in Paper I as per SSC CGL Tier II will be Class 10 level while Paper II will be of 10+2 level. Paper III and IV will be of graduation level. For Paper I, Paper III and Paper IV, 0.50 marks will be deducted in case of each wrong attempt and for Paper II, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect option from total scores.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2019 for Tier III

The tier III of SSC CGL comprises a descriptive test conducted in pen and paper mode. Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their performance in Tier I and II will be called for tier III. Candidates can write the paper either in English or Hindi. As per SSC CGL exam pattern 2019, Tier III will carry 100 marks and will be held for 60 minutes. SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2019 for Tier IV

The tier IV of SSC CGL is a skill test conducted for candidates selected in Tier I, II and III. The tier IV exam consists of Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). The candidates who have applied for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax) while CPT is conducted for Assistant Section Officer of CSS, Assistant Section Officer (MEA), Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Assistant (GSI) in the Ministry of Mines will have to appear for tier IV (Date Entry Skill Test). Tier IV of SSC CGL will be of qualifying nature.
