SBI PO Selection process 2020 - State Bank of India (SBI) conducts the PO (Probationary Officers) exam to recruit candidates for the post of PO in various SBI branches across India. SBI will mention the SBI PO 2020 selection process in its official notification but as per the previous year's notification, the selection process of SBI PO 2020 consists of three phases - Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Group Exercises (GE) & Interview. In order to become a PO in SBI, candidates need to qualify in each of the stages by scoring the cut off marks as prescribed by SBI. Candidates qualifying the preliminary exam will be eligible to appear for the Main and subsequently for the final round of SBI PO which will be the Interview. SBI is expected to release the notification any time soon. Going by previous year trends, there are around 2000-3000 vacancies that might be filled by the SBI PO 2020 exam. Candidates final selection in SBI will be based on their performance in the main as well as the interview round. As the SBI PO 2020 selection process, the marks obtained in the preliminary exam will not be added for the preparation of the final merit list of SBI PO.

SBI PO Selection process 2020 – Phases
According to SBI, the SBI PO 2020 selection process has three phases. Candidates can check details of the selection process of SBI PO 2020 here -

SBI PO Selection process 2020 for Preliminary Examination
As per SBI PO 2020 selection process, the preliminary exam carries 100 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) comprising three sections - English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. The time duration is 60 minutes. Approximately 20000 candidates are shortlisted for the main examination from the top of the merit list. SBI PO 2020 mains exam will be conducted in online mode in both objective as well as descriptive test and will consist of 250 marks. The objective type paper will carry 200 marks and will have 4 sections while the descriptive test paper will be of 50 marks for the English language test. A total of three hours will be given to complete the exam. Candidates qualified in mains exam will be called for the next stage that is SBI PO selection process - Group Discussion/Interview.

SBI PO Selection process 2020 for GE & Interview Examination
Candidates score secured in the mains (out of 250 marks) will be converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) will be converted to out of 25.
After converting the marks of main and GE & Interview out of 100. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

Selection process of SBI PO 2020 for Final Merit List
For the declaration of final merit, candidates marks obtained in the main examination and GE & Interview will be calculated. Candidates final selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.
The starting basic pay of an SBI PO is Rs. 27,620 (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of Rs. 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The candidates will be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical, and other allowances & perquisites as per new rules from time to time. The total compensation per annum on CTC basis would be a minimum of Rs. 8.20 lacs and maximum of Rs 13.08 lacs which will depend on the basis of posting and other factors.
SBI PO Joining & Training
After the SBI PO selection process is over the shortlisted candidates will be posted as “Probationary Officers” in SBI partner branches and will be on probation period for two years. Candidates who qualify in the assessment as per standards determined by the Bank from time to time will be confirmed in the Service of the Bank in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). Further, these officers who achieve higher standards/ scores stipulated by SBI will also be considered for direct placement in the next higher grade, Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II) immediately after confirmation. If any candidate fails to achieve minimum standards prescribed by SBI they might be terminated.

The notification of SBI PO was earlier expected on April 2, 2020 but due to COVID-19 outbreak, the authorities have extended the dates. However, the new dates have not been announced yet by SBI. Can I apply for sbi po exam as I am in engineering 7 th semester
According to SBI PO exam eligibility criteria one needs to have a completed graduation. You need to have a degree completion certificate on the day of exam registration and so that makes you ineligible to apply for in 7th semester.
You must apply for it next year wherein you would have completed your Engineering and you will have more time to prepare as well.
