RRB Group D 2018

RRB Group D 2018 – Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) are conducting Computer Based Test (CBT) of RRB Group D from September 17 to December 17, 2018. Candidates whose exam is scheduled till December 17 can check information regarding city and date of exam. Candidates can check exam city and date using registration number and date of birth. The admit card of RRB Group D has been issued online from September 13. The login window to check city and date of exam has been released on September 9 from 2 pm onwards. The result of RRB Group D 2018 CBT is likely to be announced in February 2019.

Candidates two times the number of vacancies will be selected for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) on the basis of their performance in CBT. Approximately, 125814 candidates will be selected for PET since there are total 62907 vacancies. Candidates will be called for document verification based on performance in CBT subject to qualifying PET stage. RRB Group D exam is conducted for recruitment of Assistant Pointsman, Gatemen, Helpers, Hospital Attendants, Porters, Track Maintainer in various departments of Indian Railways.

Note: Candidates from Odisha whose exams were cancelled on October 11 and 12 on account of cyclone ‘Titli’ hitting various cities including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Khurda and Berhampur have been rescheduled in the months of November and December 2018. The information has been sent to the concerned candidates through email and messages.

RRB Group D Application Form 2018

Railway Recruitment Boards have examined the modified photographs and emailed the revised status of photos to candidates' registered email ID. RRBs also provided link for candidates with invalid photographs to upload proper photos as per image requirements. Candidates could upload their valid photographs till July 30, 2018 (11:59 pm). Candidates who have applied for RRB Group D 2018 were able to check their application status between July 11 and 20. The application form of RRB Group D was released online on February 10, 2018. Registrations of RRB Group D 2018 were open till March 31. Candidates belonging to general category had to pay application fee of Rs. 500 while the fee for SC/ST/OBC was Rs. 250. Applicants were able to pay the application fee both in the online as well as offline mode.

RRB Group D Application Form 2018 – Steps to Fill

To successfully fill the application form, candidates had to follow the steps provided below:

  • Visit the home page of Online Registration Portal of CEN 2/2018

  • Register by clicking on ‘New Registration’ link

  • Tick mark the checkbox to confirm all instructions have been read

  • Fill information such as personal and academic details, contact number, email ID, address, etc.

  • OTP will be sent to email ID and mobile number

  • Verify email ID and mobile number using the OTP

  • The registration number will be generated

  • Click on ‘Submit’ button

  • Registration number and password will be generated

  • Fee payment

  • Choose posts and set priority for each

  • Choice of language

  • Upload scanned images of coloured photograph, SC/ST certificate and scribe photograph (if applicable) as per required dimensions

RRB Group D Admit Card 2018

RRBs have released the admit card of RRB Group D from September 13, 2018. Candidates can download the admit card for CBT four days prior to their scheduled exam. Candidates can download the admit card online by logging to their respective accounts using registration number and date of birth. RRB Group D admit card will include details like candidate’s name, photograph, signature, venue, date and time of exam. For any error in the admit card, candidates must contact the respective RRBs for correction. It is important to carry the admit card to the exam centre along with one photo-identity proof or else candidates will not be allowed to take the test. Candidates qualifying the CBT will be issued RRB Group D admit card for PET. Admit card for Document Verification will be issued to candidates who have qualified both CBT and PET.

RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2018

RRB Group D exam pattern provide candidates details regarding the number of questions, marking scheme and duration of exam. According to RRB Group D exam pattern 2018, the CBT will carry 100 multiple choice questions which candidates have to answer within 90 minutes while 120 minutes extra will be given to PWD candidates. The maximum marks allotted for the test is 100. 1/3 of marks allotted for each question will be deducted for incorrect responses. PET is conducted for the shortlisted candidates of CBT to determine their physical fitness required for the posts. The examination authority will call candidates for Document Verification based on their performance in CBT and PET.  The exam pattern of RRB Group D 2018 of CBT and PET are given below.

RRB Group D 2018 Exam Pattern for Physical Efficiency Test

Candidates will have to complete two tasks within the specified time limit to qualify the stage. The tasks prescribed for this stage has been provided in the table below:

RRB Group D Mock Test 2018

Railway Recruitment Boards have released the mock test of RRB Group D on September 12. To start RRB Group D mock test, candidates have to log in with their user ID and password. The mock test help candidates understand the process of the online test as well as the exam pattern. Candidates must attempt mock test to increase their speed and manage time efficiently on the day of exam.

RRB Group D Answer Key 2018

The answer key of RRB Group D will be released by RRBs few days after completion of exam. RRB Group D answer key 2018 will be available online. Candidates have to login with the required credentials to download the answer key. The answer key will help candidates to check the correct answers of questions asked in the exam. Using RRB Group D answer key 2018, candidates will be able to check calculate their probable score based on correct and incorrect answers. 

RRB Group D Result 2018

RRBs will announce RRB Group D result for CBT in February 2019. Candidates have to check their result online. The result PDF will contain the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Candidates qualifying the exam by securing the required cutoff as per their category will be called for PET. It is mandatory for candidates to clear PET. However, PET is qualifying in nature. Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification based on their performance in CBT provided they qualify PET. The examination authority will use tie-breaking policy in case two or more candidate secure same marks and based on this the merit list for document verification will be prepared. Merit position of these candidates will be determined on the basis of age that is a person senior in age will be placed higher in the merit list than the younger candidates. Appointment of candidates to the various posts will be done subject to them clearing the medical fitness test and verification of educational and community certificates.

RRB Group D Cutoff 2018

RRB Group D cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to secure to qualify the exam and become eligible for next round of selection process. RRB Group D cutoff 2018 will be announced separately for Computer Based Test (CBT) and final allotment. The cutoff of RRB Group D for CBT will be announced in November. The examination authority releases two types of RRB Group D cutoff for CBT qualifying and overall. The category-wise qualifying cutoff has already been announced along with the notification. The overall cutoff of RRB Group D will be declared along with the result. Candidates need to secure the qualifying cutoff to clear the exam. However, selection of candidates for the next round of recruitment exam will be done based on the overall cutoff. The overall cutoff is determined based on factors like number of vacancies, total number of candidates appearing for the exam, total score and difficulty level of exam. To be selected for PET, candidates have to secure both overall and qualifying cutoff. The final allotment cutoff of RRB Group will be determined based on candidate’s performance in CBT, PET and document verification.

RRB Group D Selection Process 2018

The selection process is composed of three stages – Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Document Verification. Candidates will be shortlisted to participate in each stage of RRB Group D recruitment 2018 on the basis of merit.

Computer Based Test (CBT): Marks secured in the CBT will be the basis on which candidates will be shortlisted for PET.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Applicants will be selected to appear for PET on the basis of marks scored in CBT. Candidates equaling two times the number of vacancies available in each category will be selected on merit basis for RRB Group D 2018 Physical Efficiency Test.

Document Verification: For this stage of selection procedure, applicants will be called on the basis of score secured in CBT stage of RRB Group D recruitment, provided the candidates have successfully cleared the physical efficiency test.
