NDA Selection Process 2020 - Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam and also prescribes the selection process of NDA 2020. NDA is conducted for admission of 12 passed candidates into Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). The NDA 2020 Selection Process has two stages - Written exam and SSB Interview. Candidates appearing for NDA 2020 will have to first appear for the written exam of NDA. On the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the written exam, they will be shortlisted for SSB Interview. As per NDA selection Process 2020, the SSB Interview comprises of 2 stages in itself - I and II. Candidates will have qualify both the stages of SSB Interview to be eligible for the recruitment.

Latest: Admit card of NDA 2020 is expected to be released on May 22, for successfully registered candidates!

As per official calendar of UPSC, NDA 2020 exam was scheduled to be conducted on April 19, 2020, in offline mode across various exam centres allotted by the exam commission body, but has now been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The exam is expected to be held on June 14.

NDA 2020 Selection Process Stages

The selection process of NDA 2020 involves the following stages:

  • Written Exam

  • SSB Interview

NDA Selection Process 2020 - Written Exam

The written exam consists of 2 papers – Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). During the written exam of the NDA selection process 2020, candidates will get 2 ½ hours to answer each paper and the total marks allotted will be 900 marks. In mathematics, the questions will be based Algebra, Matrices and determinants, Trigonometry, Analytical geometry of two and three dimensions, differential calculus etc. On the other hand, the GAT paper will comprise of question from English, Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events. Candidates will have score the minimum cut off marks prescribed by UPSC to qualify and be eligible for the SSB interview. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the marks they score.

NDA 2020 Selection Process - SSB Interview

The SSB interview is elimination is nature and is the toughest part of the whole selection process of NDA 2020. Candidates qualifying the written exam can appear for the SSB. It is designed to analyse the candidate in & out. The selection process of SSB Interview is also divided into 2 stages. In stage I of the selection process NDA 2020 for SSB Interview, candidates have to appear for Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test which is Picture Perception * Description Test (PP&DT). Candidates qualifying stage I will be eligible to appear for stage II of SSB interview. Stage II has Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. Stage II tests will be conducted for 4 days. Candidates who qualify both the stages of NDA 2020 selection process of SSB Interview will be eligible for final recruitment.

What are the documents required during the NDA 2020 Selection Process - SSB Interview

Candidates appearing in the SSB interview will have to carry their original certificates along with one photocopy of the following documents:

  • Original 10th pass certificate or equivalent in support of date of birth

  • Original 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification

  • Caste certificate if belonging to SC, ST, OBC etc

NDA Selection Process 2020 – Final Merit List

  • To get acquainted in Army/Navy/Naval Academy and Air Force through NDA, candidates need to secure the minimum NDA cut off 2019 marks prescribed UPSC, Candidates to score the cut off separately in written exam as well as the SSB Interview.

  • Candidates will have to separately qualify for Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) if they have been selected for Indian Air Force.

  • Candidate's final selection will be done as per the vacancies subjected to their NDA eligibility, medical fitness and merit-cum-preference of candidates.

NDA Selection Procedure 2020 – Reasons for candidate’s disqualification

  • Those candidates were previously selected and were then removed due to lack of officer-like qualities or on disciplinary grounds will not be selected.

  • Candidates who were withdrawn previously from NDA/NA on medical grounds or left the training voluntarily will be eligible for admission only if they qualify the medical fitness test.

During your SSB interview of the NDA selection process 2020 you will have to stay at the Selection Centre and the charges will be on the NDA exam conducting body. Train charges upto AC 3 tier and government bus charges from your home to the SSB centre will also be given by the conducting authority.

Dear aspirant,there is no sports quota in NDA in general, you have to appear for written and SSB, to qualify NDA.

However, you can go for Indian Navy through sports quota, but there are certain criterias.  Check out the official website to match up your eligibility

Hello,

No, female candidates are not eligible to appear in NDA.Only male candidates are eligible.You can join Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Airforce after graduation.There are various exams such as CDS, AFCAT and INET so you after passing in graduation you can get in defence through various entries.

The education qualification required for a candidate to apply for Army Wing of NDA is 12th passed by State Education Board or a University and for Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA AND 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme of Indian Naval Academy 12th passed (Physics and Mathematics) by State Education Board or a University but the Maximum age limit as per NDA 2020 eligibility criteria is 19.5 years. As per NDA eligibility criteria,
Only unmarried male candidates between the age group 16.5 years - 19.5 years with minimum education qualification of 10+2 are eligible for NDA examination.

So, being a girl you are not eligible for NDA examination  unluckily.
