CDS Notification 2019 - Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam for Commissioned Officers in Army, Navy, Air Force and Officers Training Academy(OTA). The admit card of CDS 1 is available from January 11 to February 3. CDS 1 2019 notification was released on October 31, 2018. The online application form of CDS 1 was available from October 31 to November 26, 2018. Candidates could withdraw the application of CDS 1 from December 3 to 10, 2018. CDS Notification 2019 – Admit Card

The admit card of CDS 1 has been released on January 11. Candidates can download the admit card till the day of examination. In order to download CDS admit card 2019, candidates have to either enter their registration id or roll number and date of birth. UPSC issues the admit card separately for the written exam and SSB interview online. In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, candidates must immediately inform the examination authority for the required corrections. No, admit card will be sent through posts.

CDS Notification 2019 - Application Form

UPSC had released the login facility to withdraw CDS 1  application form on December 3. The last day to withdraw the application form was December 10. Candidates had to log in with registration number to withdraw the application form. Candidates who had successfully filled the application form were able to withdraw the application form. The fee paid by the candidates was not refunded. The application form of CDS 1 exam was released on October 31, 2019. The last day to apply for CDS 1 was November 26, 2018 (6 pm). CDS 1 application form could be filled in two parts – Part 1 filling up of basic details while Part 2 involved payment of the requisite fee, uploading of signature, photograph, selection of exam centre and ticking of declaration check-box. Only General and OBC candidates had to pay the application fees while female, SC/ST candidates are exempted from fee payment.

CDS Notification 2019 – Exam Pattern

UPSC has prescribed the exam pattern of CDS exam. As per CDS written exam pattern, candidates applying for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force have to appear for 3 subjects – English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics whereas for OTA candidates have to appear in only two subjects – English and General Knowledge. Each paper is conducted for 2 hours and the maximum marks per paper is 200. The total number of questions asked from English and General knowledge is 120 whereas 100 questions are asked in Elementary Mathematics. For each incorrect answer, 1/ 3 mark is deducted from the total marks.

CDS Notification 2019 – Selection Process

CDS selection process involves 2 stages- written exam and SSB Interview. As the first stage of the CDS selection process, candidates have to appear in written exam and qualify the cut off released by the commission to be eligible for SSB Interview. SSB Interview includes Intelligence and Personality Test (including psychological aptitude) which is conducted for 5 days. Candidates who qualify the SSB interview are eligible for the admission to Indian Army, Navy, Airforce and Offices Training Academy.
