CDS 2019 - Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit card of CDS 1 on January 11, 2019. Candidates can download the admit card till the day of examination. To download the admit card candidates have to either enter registration id or roll number and date of birth. The written exam of CDS 1 is scheduled to be conducted on February 3. The facility to withdraw the application form of CDS was available till December 10, 2018.  According to the CDS exam pattern, the written exam consists of three sections - English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics. Candidates who have applied for admission to Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Air Force Academy (AFA) are required to appear for all the three papers. Whereas, candidates who have applied for Officers' Training Academy (OTA) will have to attempt only two papers. Candidates qualifying the written exam will be called for SSB Interview for Personality cum Psychometric and Intelligence tests. UPSC will prepare the final All India Merit List based on candidates performance in written exam and SSB Interview. 

The application form of CDS could be filled from October 31 to November 26. Candidates who had completed their graduation were eligible to apply for the exam. Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) is conducted to select candidates for different defence academies, IMA, INA, AFA and OTA. CDS Admit Card 2019

The admit card of CDS 1 has been released online on January 11, 2019. The admit card for written exam ican be downloaded till the day of the examination. CDS admit card has been released for candidates who have successfully register for the exam. Candidates are able to download their admit card till the day of examination. Candidates can download CDS admit card by entering either registration id or roll number and date of birth. The admit card carries details like candidates name, roll number, date of birth, date, time and details of exam centres. 

CDS Eligibility Criteria 2019

The eligibility criteria of CDS 1 has been released along with the notification on October 31, 2018. Candidates applying for CDS 1 exam must fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements like educational qualifications, age criteria and marital status while applying for CDS 2 exam.   • Candidates applying for CDS 1 exam 2019 must be citizens of India

  • Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan and Tibetan refugee, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam are also eligible but only after subject to fulfilment eligibility criteria as the rule of Government of India

CDS Application Form 2019

The application form of CDS 1 was released on October 31, 2018. The last date to apply for CDS 1 exam was November 26, 2018. CDS application fee was Rs 200 for general and OBC category while Female/SC/ST candidates were exempted from payment of fee. Candidates had to pay the requisite fee through online and offline. CDS application form 2019 was filled in two parts. In part I, candidates had to register for the exam by submitting basic details. In part II, candidates had to pay the examination fees, upload photograph and signature and select examination centres.

How to apply for CDS 2019?

The application form of CDS exam comprises two parts - Part 1 and Part 2

  • In part 1, candidates had to fill their basic details like their name, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name, address, community the candidate belongs to (General, OBC, SC, ST), so that fee remission is claimed, whether he/she belongs to minority, marital status, etc.

  • While filling up the CDS 2019 application form candidates were advised to carefully read the instructions carefully to avoid any mistake.

  • In stage 2 of CDS application form, candidates had to upload photograph, select the preferred centres, pay the requisite application fees, sign the declaration form and click on ‘I Agree’ button to submit the application form.

CDS Application form 2019 - Withdrawal facility

Candidates who have successfully filled CDS application form 2019 could withdraw their application form from December 3 to 10. However, UPSC will not refund the fee paid by candidates.

CDS Exam Centres 2019

The exam centres of CDS has been released by UPSC. The written exam of CDS will be conducted across 41 cities. Candidates had to enter their choice of three CDS exam cities while filling the application form. CDS exam centres 2019 will be allotted as per first apply first serve basis. Therefore, candidates should apply early to get their preferred exam centres.

CDS Exam pattern 2019

CDS will be conducted in pen and paper-based mode. According to the CDS exam pattern, The exam is conducted session wise both in morning and forenoon session. CDS Syllabus 2019

CDS 2019 syllabus for English Comprehension include the jumbled sentence, fill in the blanks, to check the command over their English grammar. Elementary Mathematics includes topics like arithmetic, mensuration and basic mathematics. The CDS syllabus for General Awareness includes topics from history, geography and current affairs. CDS exam is conducted into 2 stages- written and SSB for Personality cum Psychometric tests and Intelligence Interview. Candidates qualifying SSB are called for training programmes as per their merit and preferences for Army, Navy and Air Force. The training programmes of selected candidates are conducted at the respective academies at Indian Military Academy (IMA Dehradun), Indian Naval Academy (INA Ezhimala), and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA Chennai). CDS Preparation Tips 2019

It is important for the candidates to know the preparation tips for CDS 1 exam according to the prescribed syllabus in order to score well in the written exam. Hence, it is important for the candidates to know how to prepare for CDS 2019  exam. Here are some tips are given for the preparation of CDS exam.

  • Candidates preparing for CDS exam must solve previous years’ question papers to get the idea about the questions asked in different sections, marking scheme, etc.
  • Before starting the preparation, candidates must make a proper plan.
  • Make short notes for revision etc.

CDS Question Papers 2019

Candidates appearing for CDS can download CDS sample paper to practice for better preparation. Solving CDS sample papers will help candidates to know the type of questions asked in the exam, weightage of topics etc.

CDS Answer key 2019

The answer key of CDS 1 (2019) will be officially released by UPSC. Candidates can download CDS 2019 answer key of all sets of question booklet to check the answers. Different coaching institutions also release the answer key of CDS exam where candidates can check the responses and calculate the marks. The answer key of CDS exam will be released subject wise for all the sets.

CDS Result 2019

The result of CDS 1 exam will be declared in March 2019. Candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in written exam are called by Service Selection Board (SSB) for psychological aptitude test, intelligence test and interview. After which they are selected and the merit list is prepared by the examination authority based on the total marks secured by candidates.

CDS Cut off 2018

The cut off of CDS is released by UPSC. Candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in the written test conducted by UPSC for CDS exam are eligible for the stage 2 exam. Stage 2 exam include Psychometric tests and Intelligence Interview after which candidates are sent for medical examination. The eligible candidates are sent on training according to the preferences and marks obtained in the respective field. CDS Selection Procedure 2018

Candidates qualifying the written test are called for Service Selection Board (SSB) for psychological aptitude test, intelligence test and interview. SSB board evaluates intelligence, personality, compatibility and potential of prospective candidates for recruitment in the Army, Navy and Air Force. SSB interview consists for two stages which is conducted for 4 days- stage 1 comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and picture perception where the shortlisted candidates further undergo the second stage of an interview which comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference.
