AFCAT Result 2020 - Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the AFCAT 2020 result on March 17 in online mode @afcat.cdac.in. Candidates who have appeared in the exam conducted on February 22 & 23 can check their AFCAT 1 result 2020 by logging into the website using their credentials - email ID and password. AFCAT result 2020 contains candidate's name, registration number, and qualifying status. The AFCAT 1 2020 result is declared in two stages - after the online test and after the final result. Candidates who have qualified in the AFCAT online exam will be eligible to appear for the AFSB Interview. Shortlisted applicants can choose AFSB centres for interview and SSB tests by logging in to their account from March 18. Indian Air Force (IAF) released the AFCAT 2020 application form on December 1, while the AFCAT 2020 exam will be conducted on February 22 and 23, 2020. Based on final AFCAT 2020 result, candidates will be selected for Indian Air Force Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches.
AFCAT Result 2020 - Key Points
Candidates who qualify the online test will have to appear for AFSB Interview which is expected to be conducted from the first week of April 2020.
Candidates are given a chance to select their desired AFSB date and venue.
If candidates miss out on choosing the dates and venue of the AFSB interview, IAF will allot the interview dates and venue randomly
There are four AFSB testing centers – Dehradun, Mysuru, Gandhinagar and Varanasi.
Candidates opting for the flying branch will have to attend the test at Dehradun centre only.
Candidates opting for the flying branch will be issued the call letter for AFSB in April 2020 (tentatively).

AFCAT Result 2020 - Stages
After IAF has declared the result of AFCAT 2020 for online test on March 17. Candidates qualified in online test (EKT for Ground Duty Technical branch) will be selected for AFSB Interview for further testing and interview rounds at any one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) available at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar and Varanasi. After the AFSB is conducted, IAF will release the final result which will be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks scored by the candidates in the online test as well as the AFSB Interview.
AFCAT Result 2020 will be declared for two stages:
Online Test (EKT - For candidates applying for the technical post)
AFCAT 2020 Result - AFSB
Candidates who qualified the online test will be eligible to appear for the AFSB round and the AFSB round will be conducted as per the following stages.
Stage - I
1. Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and discussion test.
2. Psychological test.
Stage - II
This is the crucial stage in the AFSB round, candidates qualifying stage I are selected for the stage II which will be conducted across five (5) days and will consist of Psychological Test, Group Test and Personal Interview.
Candidates who have applied for Flying Branch will have to qualify the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) and Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT). These tests will be conducted at AFSB Dehradun.
The document verification (DV) of the candidates will also be conducted during the AFSB round. Candidates are required to carry the following documents during the DV:
Original Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate & Original Marks Sheet & Certificate of 10+2
Original Graduation/Post Graduation Degree and Mark Sheet of each year/semester. They must also carry two photocopies (self-attested) of these certificates.
Original NCC Certificate (if applicable)
NOC from employers for candidates working in Central/State Govt. or Public Sector Undertakings (if applicable)
Original valid Commercial Pilots’ License that is issued by DGCA ( if applicable)
Twenty (20) copies of recent passport size photographs (in colour) taken in light-coloured clothes against a white background for documentation.
Inbound Railway Ticket/ Bus Tickets. (For refund of Travelling Allowance)
How are the AFCAT Exam Marks Calculated?
Candidates scores in AFCAT 2020 will be calculated on the basis of the method provided beneath:
Candidates will be allotted three marks (+3 marks) for every correct response
One mark (-1 mark) will be deducted for wrong answers as negative marking
No marks will be awarded for unattempted questions
Formula to Calculate AFCAT score
Total score = Number of correct responses x 3 – Number of incorrect responses x 1
IAF will not release the answer key of AFCAT 2020 however candidates can download the unofficial, memory-based answer keys which are released by various coaching institutions soon after the exam is concluded. These answer keys will be based on the memory of candidates who have appeared for the AFCAT 2020 exam. AFCAT 2020 answer key will contain the correct answers to the questions asked in the exam. Candidates can refer to the answer key of AFCAT 2020 to evaluate their probable score and predict their qualification chances.
IAF will determine the cut off of AFCAT 2020. The cut-off marks of AFCAT is the minimum score that a candidate needs to secure in order to get selected for the next stage of the AFCAT 2020 exam. On the basis of the AFCAT 2020 cut off for the online test, candidates will be shortlisted to appear for the AFSB Interview. The final cut off of AFCAT 2020 will be declared after the conclusion of AFSB Interview. The final selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the online test as well as the AFSB Interview. Separate cut off marks are fixed for the online test and AFSB Interview. While preparing the order of merit list candidates are placed on the basis of their total marks in both these stages. Allotment of candidates in the various branches will also be based on the number of vacancies, their performance during the selection process and the choices given by candidates.

Girls can join the IAF only through AFCAT after your graduation. There is still a possibility of entry through NCC if you hold a 'C' certificate.
You can also apply after your BTech. With your BTech, you would be eligible for Technical branch (depending on your specialisation in BTech) or for the Flying branch as well.

i had a appendix surgery in 2015. i am studying aeronautical engineering 3rd year..so i want to appear for the AFCAT exam this year in September. Can I be eligible for airforce as i went through the surgery long back that is in 2015??
i have compleated my PUC i humanities and compleated diploma in aeronautical engineering and i have applied and got my admit card. is there any problem regarding my eduction can i able to write the exam?
Unfortunately you are not eligible for IAF AFCAT.
There is no post for candidates holding Diploma degree in Indian air force.For joining any post in Indian Air Force, one must possess a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level. And a Graduation with a minimum of 3 years degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or a B.Tech degree.
